I'd like to use this thread to comment, answer, ask, explain or debate in a healthy way your charts or those posted at Backing Trades Thru Charts . Anybody is welcome.

Aud/Usd below. Way too early to call it Gartley, but l'll be watching it whatever way price gets there.
AUD/USD I like the fact that lower triangle TL can be in confluence with 88% fib, the B point at 61% and upper TL can also be in confluence with D point at 78% Fib but the mandatory AB=CD would have its D point 60 Pips above TL.

There was indeed a bigger volume at previous low but notice how in your chart a new LL was made and no volume was present, this was an indication of a possible continuation.

EUR/USD This setup was cancelled for several reasons: There was a retracement at channel UTL which makes this channel a valid pattern, its break can lead to a Bullish rally, notice how current PA is simmilar to previous Descending channel that in fact its break resulted in a 750 pip move. Keep in mind that I am not holding any position at the moment but I would trade the upward channel break.

I see you are strict about about BC retracement at 0.382 OR 0.886. From what I understood reading Carney, 0.382-0.886 is a possible range rather. In aud/usd example if C at 0.707 than AB=CD exactly at 0.786 of XA.

I know your approach works, can't say about the other as I don't watch them that long. Thanks for your opinion on it.

You are right about a range but in this particular case AB=CD D point is beyond TL (when C at 88%), kind of a mix signal, you will have an UTL break but shorting the pair. Also 60 pip range is a bit out of my taste. Any way, as you say we need C to discuss D. Let's see what's gonna happend.

How come? it didn't get above C level. How big was your SL?

i managed my trade wrongly.
i sold at a lower level and it went up.
but then when i went short again my stops where taken out.

then at D point i didn't place trade becouse i thought it would happen later so i missed it.

I remeber you posted that chart before it reached C, I would have been a nice touch entry.

There are many factors to take into account, it is not only a good setup, bad timing, SL, TP, BE level (and luck) are just some. Look at this one for example, missed it too simply because I didn't place the pending order.

This is disturbing..
