What would you do if you had a very good system?

So what would you do if you had very good trading system that is consistent and makes good money ( almost holy grail ...) ?

No system can work well without the right mindset. Don't share it with others because they can't make money like you and they will, for sure, lose money trading your good system. For this reason, you can't sell it to any others (don't buy any system too because you can't make money trading other's system without the righ mindset).

I don't think a bank will buy your system as well because they should know that you are the one can make money, not the system.

So, my options should be to keep it or work for someone else if you don't have enough trading capital.

I would borrow more money and trade the hell out of it

I would have thought that anybody who's smart enough to devise a consistently profitable system, would be EASILY smart enough to solve the question you're asking.

But, assuming it's a serious question.......

First, I'd make sure that my results had statistical validity, i.e. test the system over several hundred trades, and many months of changing markets. If the system is mechanical, I'd get an EA written and backtest it, to likewise gain a feel for how profitable it really is, and by examining the detail, its strengths and weaknesses in different types of markets.

The statistics will also help you devise a MM plan, i.e. how much you can safely risk per trade, consistency of income, ballpark monthly goals, etc, so that you can plan the extent to which the trading will impact/enhance your current financial lifestyle.

If, after the testing, you're still convinced that it's profitable, and lack of starting capital is your problem, then I'd find a wealthy businessman who's willing to be your business partner. That's another reason to have statistical evidence, as you'd need likely a strong business case to convince somebody that (in marked contrast to the disclaimer) "past performance does in fact offer some insight into potential future results". In my experience it's safer and tidier to have an agreement with one business-savvy individual, than attempting to solicit money from family and friends, who may all have differing financial agendas, and not understand the fluctuating nature of the income and/or the risks involved in trading.

Now that you have your venture capital, one way or another, and the confidence from the performance statistics, then - if I was you - I'd go ahead and trade it myself. As a programmer, I'd attempt to automate it as much as possible, to save myself both time at the computer, and also ensure emotion-free exits. If you or your system is capable of generating a consistent 20% per month, then you probably don't need a large starting bankroll, in any case.

If your concept is a winner, and is predominantly mechanical, then I wouldn't share it with anybody, except possibly a few close friends with whom you can trust to likewise keep your intellectual property secret. If the system is highly discretionary, then there's possibly less harm in sharing it publicly, as many folk are too lazy to take the time and effort to learn the nuances of a discretionary process, and (for the reasons pointed out in an earlier post) most won't be able to make it work for them, in any case.

Expect skepticism if you approach a bank, asking them to buy it for a million dollars. Banks have their own way of approaching FX. It's my guess that you'd likely need an exceptional business case to convince any of them. They will have seen many of their own traders and systems perform exceptionally one year, and then poorly the following year. They will inevitably ask the question "why should you or your system be any different?".

As I said before, the hard part is devising a consistently profitable system, and you've apparently done that. Deciding what to do now is nothing more than applying some common sense.

i am still skeptic on such holy grail systems (unless you can see into the future) most systems are good enough depending on the traders that trades them

Don't tell anyone and make lots of money using it

hmm, there are a lot of people who are selling such "holy grails" but i think that i'd never sell the trading system or the EA if it is really good...

I will share with others once its proven by making me rich first !
