Testing my first H4 trade with the method.
I set both SL and TP to 50.

How are you experiences with trades on higher TF?
Are S/R levels by the crosses more respected than on lower TF?

You are right.
Best to close any open positions prior NFP

Thanks!

Hi digf

Daily line boxes are set at the open of the day based on your broker time.

Hope this helps a bit

Not to worry, LG. The markets have been topsy-turvy what with the Bank interventions and all.

Perhaps it is best to avoid this type of market ! It is not necessary to trade all the time.

Hello: I would like to thank LawGirl for starting the original thread and all the other people that have contributed. Thank you all. I do have experience with technical indicators but am a total noob when it comes to coding. Therefore I have a request regarding the writing of some code. It is within the original concept of the moving average cross over. My thought is to use an 8EMALo and an 8EMAHi
as an envelope. 3 long and 3 short signals would be generated with an arrow marking each one.

LONG
1. 3EMA > 8EMALo. This would have an alert. Start to monitor.
2. 3EMA > 8EMA. LawGirl.
3. 3EMA > 8EMAHi. Does the move have jam.

SHORT
1. 3EMA < 8EMAHi. This would have an alert. Start to monitor.
2. 3EMA < 8EMA LawGirl.
3. 3EMA < 8EMALo. Does the move have jam.

My intention is not to have an automatic system but a staged manual system. The purpose of the alert is to give a wake up call to start monitoring manually and looking for additional clues as to the possible future price direction.
My time frame preference is a 15M chart.
I hope someone can help me bring this together. This is my first ever post so please excuse any rookie errors. Thanks again everyone. Dave.

Hi LawGirl... Missed when you added the RSI to the equation... Same rules? New rules? Any post I should go back to?

Sorry mf...I just brought the RSI indy over from my other thread. I still think it is one of the best indicators ever and was constantly still referring to it, so I just added it. We don't really need it, but it gives a quick look at the other TFs.

No worries - quick question on your previous setups for the morning: did you catch those at the EURO session? I was looking over at my charts from FXDD but both of them happened way before the NY session started. Just wanted to confirm what my eyes are looking at is correct...

Correct - but according to the rules - you won't be on that trade until you are clear of the 200 moving average (white)...

You would see that with candles too. Just a natural retrace or pullback, then a continuation. Remember that price seldom goes straight up or straight down.
