Day chart

Enter long with color change to green. Wait until candle closes and open long at open of next candle.

stop is 1 ATR
after 1 ATR gain close move stop to BE +5.

Exit: stops out or when signal appears in opposite direction.

ColorMa 21, 4 (lsma)

using 2 templates.
both should agree
trade in direction of color ma.

What difference is there between this and hull?

Hull repaints back to sometimes 2 or even 3 candles.
ColorMa stays fixed as soon as the candle closes.
I didn't notice it until I started testing the 5 min (which I have given up on forever)...

Sorry about the false start-ups.
But I have experienced enough success to know I'm getting close to being consistent and disciplined.
I have the strategy and I think the ColorMa will do the trick.

jiva, just for comparison is there much difference between colorma and allaverages indicator?

Am trading .5% per trade.
So I can open 4 trades given I want to have no more than 2% of the account at risk at any one time.
This will give me diversification. And control my risk and my anxiety level...

It could be traded on any time frame I would think. But I am looking at the day chart only.... That's more than enough excitement for me.
then I can do something other than go blind staring holes through the monitor.

So, method 6 gives the same as ColorMA except there is no intermediate (yellow) colour. I think you can guess why i asked about AllAverages, it shouldn't take too much to put an EA together to aid in testing the strategy out.

Will be a couple of days as work commitments are keeping me busy til wednesday.

I've been trying to modify an ea from another system to trade this but my coding skills, if you can call them that, are pretty rudimentary. I'm learning but it's still along way from here to there before I could actually do this. Thanks so much...

We can just open one position with the simple rules.
Enter long when candle closes lsma green.
Stop loss 1 ATR

Move stop loss to BE +5 after gain of 1 ATR, move stop loss to BE +5.
Exit stopped out or candle closes lsma red.

vice versa short..

am looking at another template to filter with.
the charts get too crowded sticking stuff on them.
this uses another strategy but is very closely related.
a cross of 5 ma and 5 lwma.
Looks like this when the 2 templates are side by side.
the 21 lsma keeps the trend nicely while the 5,5 cross shows possible entries.
Going against the 21 lsma is generally not a good idea.

Using this reasoning, I would look for a short entry on the cross template and ignore the buy signal, since the lsma21 is trending down...
