the candle indicated in the chart attached seems a doji bar its is not a pin bar in anyways( IMHO) , please have and look and comment

lots of pin bars that played as Sho's setup's signal bar aren't "real" PB's... just look at the "real" pin bar definition.. where did you hear that pin bar shouldn't have the equal long wicks(as a doji has)? that doji is not real pin bar... but it might indicate the corrective move is mostly completed and with lots of confluences mentioned above, someone might consider it as good signal bar for long play..

Totally agree with you Gravi.

But when you are a relative newbie, i thinks it's better to play the setup which give the best probability, and the Pb is (imho) the best setup when it occurs in a good aera. PB is not a subjective setup, this pattern when it occurs in a good aera means something.

I'm not sure that we can say the same thing for doji.

But i'm not a specialist of doji, i most of the time play PB only, and try each day to look for the best aera to play it and learn to have the less loss.

I advice sho's method learner to first learn to see where a beautiful PB have great probability to avoid the loss.

For me the key of the sho's method is:
-The best entry
-A very good trade management to kill the trade when you feel the setup don't give the reaction you wanted, and keep the trade as long as possible when it goes in your direction (at less RR 2:2)

it's my point of view, nothing more

The other setup(engulfing, IB, doji..) should come after the PB will be master(imho)

that is a nice approach to begin from easy things and proceed to complicated ones... you have mentioned the "killing a trade as soon as it doesn't give the reaction you wanted".. it is a bit harder thing comparing to choosing doji,ib e.t.c instead of pb's when taking a trade... it needs advanced market feeling and solid trader's psychology.. i use only SL->BE at 1:1 level and close the trade as i see unusual big bar with reversal bar and divergence occured..

My setup is the PB above the arrow.

I entred a little after.

I killed the trade with +7 pips in the bank bcs price stalls.

but it looks like to be a bit risky play - against the current momentum..
it was developing the short setup imo...look at the chart..

I totally agree with you Gravi.

But when you add other informations (pivot point support and RN rejectded by my PB entry) and see the left blue aera i draw (lots of buyer at this price) i just think it was good to play the long.

But i killed the trace fastly as it was, as you say, a CT, and bcs price was stalling.

RET23.6 aznd RET38 + trendline

The price go fastly up so i expected a rejected from all these confluence.

Finally the bar ended in PB

I forget to tell that this morning i try this CT.

I bought after the green engulfing, with stop under the green engulf bar.

I thought that the big red bar before my entry was exhaustion before trendline

I killed the trade with + 1 pips bcs i saw just after there was no divergence, so i have been afraid to keep the trade.


i'm not confortable with the CT, i prefer the trend trade!!!
