I've been working on this new code and finally was able to pull off a reasonable working back test... but this is just a functional test and a peek at possible performance. (never trust a back test folks. Even forward test on demo can give mixed results sometimes depending on the abilities of the programmer.)

I dont trust Back tests. They info is very faulty. I once traded an EA live and then back tested it for the same month period and the results were not even closely similar. A live EA will get trades a back demo will miss and they miss a lot of trades. Looks good.

Yeah backtests are prone for errors, but I just run it for a month just to make sure everything or most everything is working and get an idea what kind of profit potential it "might" have.

Well the SL / No SL thread seems to be going commercial now? I never would have guessed that.... but I guess you go where the eyeballs go.

Maybe now I can reduce my addiction lol.

Latest stats of original demo. However, there seems to be an error in the FF explorer (minimal) . The error is clearly marked and FF will likely have the error fixed shortly.




also noticed the pic is mistakenly marked Nov 11 and should be Nov 01, 2011.

Happy to say that the new Drive system is performing quite well. As with any new idea I get there are always complications along the way.

It turns out that what I saw was much more complicated than what I first envisioned but with that said I've already come up with multiple versions of this new idea.

Right now it's hard to say how similar or unsimilar they will be to one another. In comparison to the other older strategy it appears to be more efficient with a higher probability of entering a profitable trade. Which is a good thing right?

There is always work to be done. This is the difference between a trader and one who searches for a non-existant "holy grail".

It's still early - anything can happen. We are only 5 weeks into this strategy... so who knows what will happen? The stats and functionality are such that lead me to believe that it will give the former strategy a run for the money long term as compounding with this system is turned on.

Should be interesting to see what develops going forward.

Things tend to change this time of the year because of the Holidays and seasonal influences. This is an important time of the year for any EA to show strengths and weaknesses.

Happy to say we broke 130% for the year on the original idea with compounding off. At this point it's pretty much a broken record.... just looking / waiting for another rapid growth spurt. Tick Tock...

The new Drive system is holding it's own so far.
