True, I was referring to the general "area". I am not looking at a short until we see the handle though.

How are things in Egypt? News hasn't focused on it too much over here since Mubarek is gone......they are more interested in Libya at the moment, and probably Syria next as it falls.....

Anyone looking at these two pairs as they are at good levels atm:
AUD/CAD - 1.05
USD/CAD - 1.00
I would you expect one to possibly breakout and one to bounce.
Crude closed above 90 so it could be CAD strength?
Any comments before price action shows us the way?

Considering how well Wall Street's buying the EU rumors, it's hard to imagine them doing anything besides selling the fact.

Oil breaking the 90 USD mark is important. It should strengthen the CAD, but I honestly think that the markets can't be "trusted" at the moment. The truth is the EU summit on Wednesday is everything at the moment. Because of that meeting - everything could fall apart Wednesday. I am personally being very small in my positions until after that.

But, in theory - yes, you are correct.

Taking a look at "risk" in general - check out this S&P500 monthly chart. Wow. Massive Bullish Outside Candle forming. The blue line? A 200 moving average as well.......

Although we should probably pullback, looks like the "risk on" trade might be with us for a while......

Long time people! Hope everyone is doing well. I bought a house and don't have any money to trade anymore... hehehe. Only kidding -- still have a few dollars here and there, but honestly haven't made a currency trade in months! What's the good word?

Euro Falling apart...oh wait...everything's better...
Market is crashing... oh wait: Best October in the stock market since 1970-something?!
US is in recession, better get some QE3... oh wait, everything is better...

I can't keep it all straight. Schizophrenic market if you ask me. Anyway, hope to be back from time to time and hope all you guys are doing well and making a ton of money in these turbulent markets!

That Euro is like a turd that won't flush isn't it? Who else got burned on Thursday? I did!

But anyway the level we closed at is actually more significant if we look further back in time, for example EUR/USD and NZD/USD.......If only we saw that earlier eh? 1.4 was too popular to work it seems.

Yeah, and if you look at the EUR/USD charts, the gap from several weeks back is about where we are. I think the move is well overdone, and to be honest - I think the ECB cuts rates sooner rather than later.

There is already a story about several politicians downplaying the success of the summit, and there is much more to go in order to "fix" things. This latest round of moves doesn't impress me much to be honest - I think the Euro is dead still, it is only a matter of time.

I would pose this theory: I think it is EUR/USD short covering just as much as anything else. If it was true Euro buying......why the hell isn't EUR/CHF moving??????? Supposedly the summit "fixed" everything......and the SNB is working against the Franc.....but the pair still won't move, and has actually fallen slightly over the last several days........doesn't seem like a strong currency to me at all if it can't gain against one that the CB of the country is going to work against??????

Doesn't mean it can't rally more - but I think the larger move is coming, and it isn't up.

Well......for what it's worth - I am short now. I actually got really lucky - the BoJ started buying up Dollars about 15 minutes after I did it........sometimes being lucky is good enough I suppose. As I write this, we are trying to break below the 1.40 level. If we do, this could pick up some momentum.
