Even though there is no longer activity on this thread, I still trade TB version from post #1991. It suits my trading style, and the annualized return has been running over 100%. As far as money management, I'm not a very brave trader, risking only .01 lots per $400 balance per max open pairs allowed. Margin level is currently set at 1500%. All of this has allowed me to withstand (and laugh at) the occasional very large open position. Steve, your hard work is truly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,

There are several reasons for which I'll stick to porting the code:
- stronger trust in the code that I have written and java runtime in general,
- some enhancements to the Beast algorithm that would be very difficult to implement due to general complexity of its code
- use of an multicurrency optimization.

It is true that Dukascopy lowers leverage to 30 during weekends. But I think that with lots of pairs and a reasonable risk appetite it should not be a problem.

Meanwhile my brain is almost boiling from reading The Beast...

Steve, if...

Sorry. I missed this when you posted it. Feel free - there are still people here using this bot and who knows when others might return. It could even be that eventual developments in my Hanover thread might give this ea fresh legs; we shall see.

Cheers

Carry on being a patient coward and I am sure you will continue to be rewarded. Although I am not currently trading TB, that does not mean I shall never return to it - see my post above.

Hi Steve, how can I contact you on pm? I have another proposal for EA. I think you still remember the 4/133/222 SMA system for intraday. The new system is much simpler, just need to code a few stuff and I am not good at it

Send me a pm by going to my profile page.

By the by, I have not forgotten the triple SMA system; I could not get the ea working properly and other things have since attracted my attention. I intend sorting the EA out at some stage.

Hi Steve, it would be nice to iron out the odd glitch with TB and maybe import some of the other stuff that has been worked on i.e. Big Bob and Hanover and maybe a bit of stealth, but all in good time.

I'm a coward but still run TB successfully but I dropped the CHF and JPY pairs long ago, too much F'ing about and too much DD from these. I just increased lot size on the few I do trade.

I love TB, you just need to be very patient but 'Dem prices go up, dem prices go down, dem........'

Anyway many thanks for all your work Steve, I always look forward to trying anything you produce.

I'm still trading TB, although it is still on my nano account for now. I do intend to use it on a larger account, but there are a couple of things which I need to have completely clear in my head prior to doing so - mainly developing some rules and a plan which I can apply consistently in respect of dealing with runaway L3 trades. At the moment I'm just rolling my sleeves up when it gets hairy and trying to trade my way out of them as best as I can.

However, there is no consistency when I try to sort the L3 trades out, and there is no real method in how I trade them. This is fine on my £200 account, but isn't going to work, or be sensible, for a £2,000 account for example.

Just by way of information, this is my demo account which has been running since May without intervention:

As you can see, there was a slight glitch in the trailing stop feature which wiped out a few hundered $$$

One of the reasons I developed 10.0 was for better and more knowledge reentries in recovery. If you look at the pic below I just got done recovering an AUD/USD trade. I had a buy going up in the first yellow area #1 in red. I reentered the next time price touched the 2MA on the daily for level 2. I reentered again at #3 and then at #4 I dropped the Level one trade and recovered the other two. I took a level 1 loss but saved the level 2 and level 3 trade. That is how you can read a daily chart and know exactly where to reenter and when to bail out of a trade. I hope this helps. See pic below.

a formula I use for levels is if level 1 is a 1 lot trade, then L2 is a 1 lot trade, and then L3 I go to 3 lot and L4 is a 3 Lot but i lose on the 1 lot L1 the rest are recovered or profitable. I call it the 1.1.3.3 formula. Some people use a martingale formula of 1.2.4.8 but to me that is dangerous to do and can cause some serious DD. Another one I have used to quicken recovery is 1.2.3.5. However, the one I use almost all the time now is 1.1.3.3. I like the lower DD it gives me.

Steve or any coder, is there any way this could be added to TB and/or TOB? I really like the logic behind it.

I looked at the code and kind of found the area where one might make the change, but I'm sure I would muck something up terribly.

Steve, I hope you come back to TB. I am looking forward to a Hanover add-on.

Save a backup of the mql4 file somewhere safe, then try it. You cannot do any harm.

Hi all,

i just thought about combining the "sixth lines" (The Beast) with the recent strength values...
I think it would be nice if we use the trade entries as they are now and only use the recent strengt values to enter the recovery trades for the 1.2.6 system.
Yust some thoughts i had right now while having a cigarette break at work

I've been combining the murray maths with other bits and pieces.

Dont see much use for it with TB, but thought i'd jump on the band wagan and brag about how much you guys have helped.

Great, isn't it. To me, the astonishing thing is, we couldn't have done this 7 years ago. I couldn't, anyhow; only had dial-up internet here in the UK. Without broadband, online trading would be impossible.

also.. without sounding like an arse kisser, if people like you lot werent willing to help us out, I'd flipping a coin to decide my longs or shorts!

Keep it coming boys... we are nearly there.

On that note Steve, is the spider system your current favourite, in terms of potential (or even profitability?)

Yes, although it is going to receive the Hanover treatment.
