Like others, Spider gave me some long pips and then suffered during the chop in the consolidation around the 3900 level before giving a great 60 pip sell down to todays DP level.

The AA filtered out the next potential buy before another sell......now my TP is at the MS 1 level just under 3800

I'm trailing my stop at the AA MA - manually for now.....I wonder if Steve might consider this as an option......

Hi Stimpy, I'm going to open a myfxbook account this week, M1 seems to be working perfectly atm with a ten pip target.
I'm running Spider full time on a laptop connected to my home wifi, nothing special.

Trades so far today

8 TP
2 SL

80% hit rate is Extraordinary.........

Just opened another sell but starting to get close to the ADR so the risk factor has increased substantially....

myfxbook is very handy - it does lie a little and obviously live will be different to demo.

I would not consider the results until live and running 24/5.

Yes running M, I've never seen it go over double lot so far, M's fine as long as you are sensible about it and limit the Max lot size to suit your account.
And speaking of M, as I type this Spider has just opened another sell, double lot....

ok. so some things I have read from the indo run and cable run threads (well documented M bots)

taking 50% profit every day (depending on broker withdrawal restrictions) and 50% a week - thus limiting the dinosaur extinction event.

limiting the levels to which M will go.

avoiding news - sometimes the whole week around news event.

I think for a little amount great - at higher levels its not something I want to invest in financially or timewise.


That said I was playing with some simple filters for VQ... it is profitable atm on EU no doubt. Good indy.

I also got that sell, but in agreement with your comment on the ADR set my TP to the S1 level of 3767 which has since been hit. I then activated the Ask Manual Confirmation mode to allow me to confirm any new Spider signals........

The current consolidation has held in a ~ 30 pip range - a rather useful, regularly occuring phenomenon http://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon12.gif - and I will not be surprised to see it holding for ~ 160 mins http://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon12.gif.......

I left M1 running and this 30 pip consolidation/range sliced and diced Spider to bits, I guess it was predictable after that big move south.

Just to let you all know, I leave Spider running 24/5 unless I have to be away for a couple days or I remember to check for news events and there is a big one coming; I frequently forget. Default settings.

Ticking along quietly making the equivalent to 30 pips profit. Starting at 0.01, the biggest lot size so far is 0.16 - L5 in NB terms.

GM - yes, it was predictable and given the frequency of these ~ 30 pip consolidations I'll do some research to see if I can find any settings that would allow Spider to take advantage of them......this morning's range into FO is ~36 pips....

Hi Steve

I have been working with Spider for a few days and I have been relying on the CloseonOppositeSignal feature to get me out of trades. Yesterday i was puzzled when there were a few times that a trade did not close when i expected it to and then i noticed that it is when the ForexKiwi is on and there is not enough margin percentage then it will, ofcourse, ignore any signals (even though in my scenario i wish to close a trade and not open a new one)
Is there anyway around this besides switching the ForexKiwi to False ?

Got a couple more if you don't mind

1. i have been able to manipulate things to set this up so that i could observe what happens so here is the problem :
I want to set the time manager to stop trading at a certain time :12:00 my local UK time (I can see that it must be set to my computer time).
to test this today i had an open trade at 12:50 on a 1min chart so i set the end time for trading to 13:00. When it hit 13:00 Spider continued to manage the trade and then closed it when there was an opposite signal at 13:03 which is great BUT unfortunately it didn't switch off then and it continued trading, opening another trade at 13:09.
On my other platform where i am testing Spider on a 15min chart there were no open trades at 13:00 and so Spider switched off correctly at the alloted time.
So it would seem that if there is a trade open when the EndofTrading time happens it will pass it by and not take any notice of this instruction even after the open trade closes.

2. I had AlsoManageMartingaleTrades = True yesterday and i am confused at what Spider looks at to decide when to close trades ...some strange closures happened, (and there were no opposite signals at the time )...what parameters does this feature look at to decide when to close ? Today i have it set to False and it is working well, looking for the SubsequentTakeProfit but also closing if there is an opposite signal.

The attached makes rather interesting reading for 1 mini lot, last Monday to Friday.......to be taken with a pinch of salt

Yes, I do. Unless you are very new here, you will be aware that I spend the occasional lazy half-hour coding robots for use by the Brains Trust here at FF.

In return for this, I expect people to sort things out for themselves when they are slightly confused. Your second question is one that I find especially annoying as it indicates you have not taken any notice of my brief detail about this in post 1. One of the things I hate most is having to read queries from people too lazy to read post 1 properly.
