I forgot, I did find a cool site that helps create EA's and the guys name is CodersGuru.......

There are guys who will write EA's for free most of the time....I really like the site and people due to the kinship and just plain wanting us to all win at this game.

I think I need an indicator that I will pass price as parameter/input and it will send me an e-mail when it reaches that point so that I can move my stops to Breakeven... Hmmmm.. will need to program that as my first EA... hehehe.. if it's considered an EA.. thanks bigballer.. I was quite stuck inside the box..
Hey no prob.

Go to InterbankFX's webinar calander and show up in the chat and have Steven write you one. Keep in mind he makes mistakes but he knows his stuff. Once it is completed you might want to have him debug it which is a main cause for EA's to not work when first made.

However, I have really only seen the "good" of the strategies. Can you give me some examples of the "bad" and the "ugly"?? Thanks.

That's a fair question. My second month trading the Knife, I lost a little over 900 pips. I don't know if it was just a bad month, or my inexperience with the system or both. But yes, this system has its warts and oddball moments just like any other system. But with that said, once I got the hang of it, my wins have outweighed my losses by a nice margin. As for my "students", some are winning with the Knife, and some are not. Do bear in mind that a system, any system, is the least important component of what makes a consistently successful trader. That's where Jim's and Fiji's sections of the forum come in to provide a balance education. Fiji's money management and trader psychology sections have to be seen to be believed. They are awesome. And Jim's price action teachings alone will put you light years ahead of other traders IF you're willing to put in the required study and practice.

Please do understand, that my section of the PF is just a small piece. Jim's and Fiji's sections are supernova's compared to the white dwarf of my section. Even if my section were gone, the other sections of the PF are worth many, many times the cost of the subscription.

I'll let Dial give the official answer here, but my $0.02 is that trading off 4-hour and daily charts does a much better job of keeping out of the noise level of news releases, sudden spikes, etc.

Just before the last NFP, I had a long position open on the EURUSD with my own 4-hour system. I got out at breakeven, afraid that NFP would cause the typical pro-USD reaction. It did temporarily, but it wouldn't have stopped me out, and my early exit cost me a 200-pip gain.

Of course, there may be times when you're stopped out due to news, but it won't happen nearly as much as with 5 or 15-minute charts.

Sorry, I forgot to answer your first question. I don't know what you mean by "account" for volatility during news. Perhaps the best answer I can give you as to how the Knife works is to suggest you read the Vegas 4 hour method document. It is upon this that the Knife is based. You can download the V4 document from the Vegas sticky in the Beginners Forum, along with all of Vegas' other documents. You might also wish to read the thread "Lost in the Tunnel" for more information about the V4 as well as some tidbits in there that I posted about the Knife.

Hi Bernadette, are you being trained throught MTI? Great people if you are, i enjoyed the time with them and am still active in their forum ( : accrete there also: ). Anywhoooo, i just uploaded my version of the FIBO tunnels for FIBOTrader/MTItrader charting software to my server. You can download both and see how they work out on the charts. Simply save them into the system folder when the charts are closed and they should come up next time you open them as available in the systems.

Now you won't have the 8sma on there if i'm remembering, so just add it after applying the system. You will have to do your standard TA as they are teaching you such as the A>B>C>D movements and trend lines and such for determining entry as it is simply the fibo tunnels and nothing more. But if it helps you get rolling with the general feel of the 4hr model that is very cool and i'm happy to have helped in a small way.

Feel free to P.M. me if you have particular Q's on the FT4/MTI4 charts, though i no longer use them as i'm "graduated" from the mentorship program, i still have a good working knowledge of them and should be able to assist from memory.

Yeah, I had Steven over there at Interbank FX create for me one, and now it is working. Not a great one, but involves RSI and MA crossovers.

But yes, it can be programed to send out alert emails ONLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Thom. I started with MTI too. Loved Jared's teachings. I have since also moved on to be more independent. I hardly ever visit their chatroom anymore, but BOY did I learn alot. I now get FT4 directly from FibonacciTrader.com and the price is cheaper. I absolutley LOVE this charting software. And the ability to place higher timeframe indicators on current charts is priceless....well, to me anyway.

I have downloaded your SI's. Will install them and let you know. I am so glad to have found others who use FT4. I was beginning to feel quite lonely.LOL
Great to hear of your success Bernadette. FX Chief's chats were the highlight of my tu/we mornings during the mentorship class. I actually found MTI because i was a FX feed beta-tester for the FT4 charts. I too loved their versitility. Have you seen my posts concerning some of my multiple time frame MA's testing that are posted in the James16Group (if you are a member?). In short, i did a quick overlay of the various MA's used in the Vegas models and found some of the interesting correlations.

There were 98 posts sent so far, with only 2 very partial results...

I really hope Mr. Vegas will be kind enough to share us with real long term statistics of the results. I'm sure it will be most helpfull to us all.

I am also sure that good results will encourage new traders to join the PF.
(And if the results are not that good, we could all think of ways to improve the system).

Simon, That is a fair question...

I posted what I thought was rather in depth in several posts in this thread and others.

Have you done some back testing or forward testing on these systems? If so, I am eager to see to your analysis. Of course having read this thread you already know I do not follow the 4hour method exactly, but then even in the docs it says we should try to make it our own. I have explained my approach and also my results, for the length of time I have used this system.

There is also a clear description of Vegas stats in the Vegas results on C2 vs "real life" thread post #6. In fact, that entire thread is very informative.
