Yes if we think about it...its seem to be lot of money but when i trade i just try to forget its money! I see them as points....lol

But yes im happy with it...but surely i can make lot more on this nice red ride!

Well...it depend how confident i feel about a trade. But dont forget im still at the learning stage.

When im very confident, i normally trade 50 units on Gold. This may sound small but for yesterday drop..this could have been a profit of around $2500. I was confident on that trade but i was a bit late (well...i tought i was late) so i short 25 units and closed my trade too soon!

(To be honest...i had take some 100 units trade but my acct. balance is not high enough and this was WAY TOO MUCH stress to handle for me! When i red RR taking over 3500 units....i was in shock! lol )

what is a unit?

I mean units of what i trade. For gold, when i say 50 units i mean 50 ounces. I dont know if RR refer to the same thing when he refers to units.

Its a lot of money...but if you have 300,000$ on your acct this is less than 10% of your account with 1:200 leverage with ounce at 1600$.

For yesterday drop of 50$ that would mean a profit of around 175 000$ ! Wow!

at alpari i trade with lots. 1 lot is 10 euro per 1 pip..

Well...im not an expert...but here is my calculation of it (RR may confirm):

Lets say gold ounce is at 1600$.
Leverage i have is 1:200

So unit price is (1600/200) = 8$.

So if i have 5000$ on my acct and want to trade max 5% of it..
(5% * 5000) = 250$
250$ * 200 = 50000$
50 000$ / 1600$ = 31.5units (so.. 30)

So i can buy 30 ounces with ~250$ wich will give me 30$ for every change of $1 on ounce in my direction.

$50 gain/drop in my position direction would then give me a profit of ~1500$ for $250 investment.
