Sorry, I forgot to mention that in the history, to only have it display the close, 5 day predicted moving average, and the 10 day predicted moving average. After you have exported the history, highlight and copy the data only from the exported data(don't copy the header that says date, close....), and then paste it over the old data in the signal file. After you do that, it will tell you todays signal for whatever markets data you pasted in. It will either say BUY, SELL, or NO TRADE. I hope that makes it clear.
If you're still confused about how to use it, I can make a PDF file that will use screenshots that will show you how to do it.

I'm afraid that I can't paste the 3 data set (9 days) to give a signal. I'd appreciate a PDF with each step. Thanks a lot.

Thanks, cp. I've got it to work. One question: the signal boxes show the latest close of April 5, whereas you stressed NOT using the last day's data in the 9 day export. Can you clarify?

I stressed not using the last day's data for the Predicted Moving averages. You need to use the last day's close. The predicted moving averages are predicting the moving average 2 days into the future for the 5-day moving average and 4 days into the future for the 10 day moving average. So, it wouldn't make sense to use the last day's data of the predicted moving averages. But you need to use the last day's close. What the signal is calculating is what the close would need to be today for both the 5-day and 10-day moving average to be accurate. If both of them need to be higher than the close of the last day, then it creates a buy signal. If both of them are lower, then it creates a sell signal. If one's higher than the last day's close and one's lower, then it says no trade.

thanks for the great info. I tried it out yesterday on five markets(in a demo) and just took the trades off this morning for a net positive of 80pips, I had 4 winners and 1 loser.
I will definately be watching this to see how it works and get comfortable with it. Do you or anyone else have ideas on stops for this system?

Here's a quick suggestion for stops:

25% of the predicted trading range for that day beyond the p/h or p/l. If the price goes more than that, chances are strong it will run a long distance.

Try it!

Hi cp

Thanks for taking the time to put this pdf file together for all of us! This is a great tutorial. I am comparing this trading "filter" with my final VP strategy.

Hi cp

I use CSI also and your Signal Generator is working very well -- only for the results to speak, now. My signals agree with yours. I've also got the equation right now, just in case.

Well, I am using Genesis Trade Navigator, and my downloads are NOT availbe at 5:00pm EST as suggested in the original method. Is this strategy time-sensitive, or is it OK, to run it at 7:00pmEST? Unless there's a whole bunch of movement between 5:00pm and 7:00pm, everything should still work the same, right?

When I started, CSI advised me that the data would be ready by 6.15pm EST, and I make entry instants/stops/limits anywhere from about 6.45 to 8.45pm EST depending on time constraints. In my experience there is seldom much movement in those hours.

CSI releases Forex data at 4:45 pm est. I usually download between 5 and 5:15 pm est without difficulty.

Please can anyone help. I have recenly purchased Vantage Point but am having diffuculty getting VP to display charts/reports etc. I have installed and tried both CSI and CRB data cd's and followed their instructions.

the following messages appear when I attempt to display charts etc:

- Unable to load package index file

- Not enough data for CC continuous

I have been in touch with both organisations but with no success, they are also slow in responding at the moment.

Thanks in advance

Dave............I think you should call VP tech support. That's one of the things you have paid for, and I can say from personal experience, they are very helpful

I am pretty new here too. But from everything I have read, metatrader4 seems to be the universal charting software of choice. I have a mini account with fxcm and can say from my experience that I am not a fan and don't recommend them. Now I am demoing with interbankfx and with them you get the metatrader software and so far I am very pleased. I will be switching my account soon.
I am currently watching the different vantage point strategies that the traders here have so generously shared with everyone. Everyone is different, so I am demoing and know that it will take some adjustment to fit my style and comfort level. I will keep everyone posted on where it takes me.
