For me, the proof lies in a backtest on historical data (and if that looks promising in a forward test). So we need an expert advisor which incorporates the described rules and conditions. This should be a fairly simple EA for an experienced programmer because the rules are well described.
I have some experience in writing EA but only for metatrader5 (MQL5) platform.
(I will give it a shot if i can find the time).

yes i backtested before I tried forward testing it, has a significant edge. My results were in the 75% success rate....I will let you do our own testing and see what you come up with. trading live now, and having a ball.

ok good. my settings are:
smoothing=7
method=3
filter=5
if you need anything else let me know. Also guys try your best to get the original VQ i posted to work. its a non repainting version, or at least make sure your version doesnt repaint.

most of the entry looked right, I dont use a h1 timeframe but if it works out then great. I will sat that i would consider using a faster MA on a higher tf...a 5Ema shifted three give pretty reliable signals. a 20 may be a bit slow. Also I have the daily pivots on my chart which help to guide my descisions. Second thing is yooue entered at 119.98 which my broker never even shows price getting that high, which broker do you use? and last thing had you entered on the M1 the signal wouldve been much earlier 119.80 on my chart, and the Sl wouldve been 7 pips instead of 60.

Hi minyPB. That's Lawgirl's Trend Display v1.02. from the Trade What You See- Almost Naked Trading thread started by lawgirl21. (A very good thread by the way.) You can find it on page 160, post # 2399 by Scrutch. It gives the direction of the current price in 4 different time frames as reflected by an RSI set at a 3 Period.

I didnt trade the london session today but here is my entry at 0842. +65 at the moment. stop on position is at 1.3450. great day for trading the EU, easier than yesterday despite it being friday.
UPDATE: out with +46 pips

Another thing to consider is the angulation of the PA as it crosses the MA. This is a GREAT indicator of MOMENTUM. Its the only non-lagging one you will find. Remember that our goal is to capture momentum and volatility in our trades. that way we get out RUNNERS

the first arrow=yes; second arrow=no: macd was not aligned.
first one was not false, 1:1 RR was reached, just wasnt a runner.

my settings are 7,3 but filter is 1 because only with filter 1 I can see vq indy on my platform

any idea?

currently up 12 pips, already closed half remainder at be =1.34433.

prob the last trade for the week..week total not including this trade is 337 pips. 12 winners 4 losers.

if you change the setting on the filter then you cant see the vq? try changing from 7 to 5 maybe

When I change setting from 5 to 1 filter,only then I see vq indy on my charts

Thanks for the system. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I have a few questions.

On attached chart...is my understanding of this trade correct. If so then...

On risk management, you mention 1%. Do you calculate that in your setup. I'm not used to trading on the M1. Does that give you enough time to get that all figured and factored into your trade?

Also what is the 200ema for, just general trend (sorry if I missed that in the thread) (edit--- duh, just saw it on page 1 --- I swear I read it...)

hey spyderman, welcome to the thread. Yes you have it correct, that was an excellent example of the way i trade and the system described here. as for risk management I do that before I start trading, for example I know what my risk to stops ratio will be. As in if the stop is 8, 10 , 12 ,20 etc I already have figured out the size of my position and I get that figured out before I start trading, this way I can act quickly and without doing any calculations in between. The stops are all figured on a postit note on the side of my monitor, high tech I know.
The 200 MA is trend detection for me. I give more weight to taking trades that are with the trend than taking counter trend trades, that is to say being on the right side of the 200 ma. If price is moving over and under the 200ma or the daily pivot point I consider the price to be rangebound. I can then either take very small profits or wait untill the price takes direction again and wait for a signal in that direction. this is equivalent to taking pull back trades and will usually result in a runner trade. thanks for the great questions.
