2. Turning off PWR would be a sweet option to have. This is a scalper, not a trend follower! That is, it breaks my heart to see so many trade set-ups not worked during retraces because PWR is only in the mood to sell....This elephant 2 has a lot to do with elephant 1 of immediate trade placement with tight BEPs.

Thing is, PwR is an integral part of the bot and there is no extricating it without re-writing the code.

It is a trend-following scalper. You may disagree with the method of ascertaining the trend, but that is what Aurora does. Even if we were able to, turning off PwR would make this a different bot.

Now, if you want a different bot is another matter. Post a different strategy that you have traded live, successfully, and I will code it into a bot.

Hi,
I rather dont want to say but I dont use CCI or other safety features except BE.

I like Gi and i think it can be very good trend following robot. So my strategy is first evaluate main trend on 1D if its trending strong you can be sure that robots will make some trades ( maybe is worth to trade only with the trend direction that day not both ways).

Steve,
Thank you for your work. I am not sure how GI works but you could add two things if Slope is blue up trend go long if red go short (like Auroras MustBeContinuingTrend). Another thing I understand there is no reword/risk ratio in both robots (or i if i am wrong forgive me ) It would be good to be able to change reword/risk ratio eg 2/1.

Excellent idea Lizu....I just thought about something:

1) Use Steve's bigbob EA on a daily chart (only use it for trend trades, and deactivate it for ranging trades)
2) If bigbob is in a trade for trend,
3) Activate PwR's ea
4) keep PwR ea active until bigbob says otherwise...

We'll try this setup...

Cheers!

Yeap my understanding of robots is i know what to do but i dont have time to watch market all the time to get exact entry which is follow x - y - z rules and this is part robot can do much better than human also it doesnt have emotions. But strategy is human domain .

dancingphil,

I am sure you have your money management strategies well planned. But I would determin my % risk on the basis of my average win against my average loss, etc. When these are not know (as in Aurora's case), I would err on the side of caution.

In fact it is very simple to get this Aurora bot to win 100% of the time.

All you need change from out of the box settings is the BreakEvenPercentageOfTp from 50 to 5. This will cause the bot to hit its break even at 5% of profit. Of course the bot will then also close the trade very quickly, as the tiniest tick against the trade will stop it out. But you will find it doesn't lose - not in the 29 straight trades in my test.

No trade is assured sure 100% gains. A trader is one who makes losses and gains, for what counts it's the monthly or yearly balance sheet, which must show some gains if not consider yourselves as bad traders. Just my view.

Totally agreed. My point is that any win:loss ratio is not relevant. It's easy to get a high win %, but that means nothing in the context of bottom-line cash in bank at the end of the day/week/month.

What I find seriously impressive is the master template Steve has developed over the years for all the trade management goodies.

Please experiment with this for a week. If it looks good, I can add the BigBob trend-spotting function to Aurora.

Aurora running on this pair with CCI filter on...no trades since Sunday!

However, running Aurora on eurusd on my live with the following result since Sunday openning:

Wins: 13
Losses: 7

Let's see the result at the end of this week....

Since about 2 weeks I'm testing the EA ootb, only EURUSD, but without BE.

Despite first days were nice and the ratio P/L was balanced, last 2 days I experienced bad number of lost trades:

WED 09/28
TP 5
SL 13

THU 09/29
TP 4
SL 15

Any similar results?

Nothing to write home about BB only kept one trend trade GBPCHF, but Aurora had 12 Loss, and 8 Wins

However, EURUSD did well this week with 17 wins, 11 Loss... 2.1% increase in my live account.

Will only trade eurusd with Aurora..it looks very promising. Thanks for all your hardwork Steve, You are a real gift to this forex community.

Thanks for trying.

John will be unsurprised to read what I am about to write.

I left Aurora on my live account all week - EU. All the trimmings - H4, D1 pivot, Cci etc. Not sure how many trades she took, but they were not many. She just about came out at breakeven.

I had to go out this afternoon. Out of curiosity, I left A on a new demo, trading 'naked' A - i.e. no trimmings. 1% risk. I arrived home to the account +3%.

Not entirely sure that I have not allowed this thread to wander up some blind alleys.

Time to leave A on a dedicated demo trading naked for a month, I think.

Glad to hear it Steve. A's a good-looking babe (but not high maintenance) although she thinks you've been neglecting her somewhat.
