What I see is for example with trading made simple.. a thread that is very popular but been around 5 months.. it has not proved to be profitable, I see new traders finding a catchy title and jumping into a system head first.. I've seen it done before.. to me its the same effect as people go through daily.. the title that catches your eye in the bookstore.. of this is a great book.. la la la..

I don't see it as wow heres a great profitable system.. (well maybe others see it that way) but if they see it that way its based on what.. someone else claiming it has been? confirmation bias?

i like this thread, makes me laugh.
it is clear that our doctor is not a psychologist, as i have seen favorite, pretty much out psyched him through out the whole thing.

i gave honest answers, we lightly touched on macro economics and social classes but no further conversation was discussed on the matter. i am still awaiting for a response to my what is freedom answers.

let me psycho analyse this thread, favorite is probably nubcake's brother lol

and our doctor might have serious psychological barriers regarding his trading so he looked into NLP and helped him, or hopes it helps him. With this new discovery he wanted to share it with us (of course not to discuss or see our input but to teach us).

nothing wrong with trying to teach others the subjects that you dont know yourself, sometimes teaching is the best way to learn.

so if our doctor wants to continue discussing NLP, or macro economics, i suggest he has the mental fortitude not to be derailed by favorite (not a psychology major, but has done his part to completely screw this thread for our PSYCHOLOGY doctor who should have managed favorite's behavior better)

i have a feeling favorite is a smart guy lol, completely discredited our psychologist, by putting in evidence the utter incapability of our doctor to handle this situation

want to know what I see in "Spud's Predictive MTF Stochastics"

posted two years ago.. main author no longer active for a good year in that thread.. except one post in 2011 indicating he wants to trade binary options which is a giant signal the system failed for him and wants a more gambling style or trading.. idk.. just me

i had a read through the threads (rocky's is awesome) but the other one about the stochs were konfusing...

I trade price action, so any indicator does give info about price action. No one realizes it though. Its just easier to do without so many indis.

...So what's the argument?

yeah but thats what interests me.. how is your newest system even better than the old ones.. what proof do you have.. some backtests are a good start but the future usually fucks that up. your new system is 4 months in the making..

thats all I was trying to say.. and thus its difficult for me to see you putting down another guy regardless of if doctors an idiot or not.. because I only saw much of what you were saying was unconsciously proving his point that traders are programmed to fail

anyways we have all probably spent to much time BSing in this thread have a good day

newyear498, you're wrong about "Trading Made Simple". Big E trades this system for almost a year, and this system is kind of a "sequel" of his previous system which he traded for years. He and his close friends have very good statistics.

Do you think a good system must be a system that has been around for 5-10 years?

just seeing two people arguing with one another when they seem to be acting the same..

anyways your a story of your own which I wont go into detail now about.. but I've been watching your story and admiring your thread.. your age is notable and I expect I will learn much from watching you grow as a trader. Seems like most the gurus these days be it in business are those who started young and are bright from a young age.

Im not going to take sides in this argument. Let's just admit that everyone has different views about this and that, and i see a lot of truth, and falses in your arguments. Its okay to share different views, and sometimes one side has to compromise to one side of the argument. Im not going to say whats wrong whats right, its you dudes' argument, solve it out, if you guys would want, we can show our trading results aka statements when off-market hours or something.

its amazing how arguments first start at a little topic, then theres misunderstanding, miscommunication, and makes it bigger problem.

you know how your parents tell you to just be yourself?

well trade like yourself. I am serious, right now you are in the information gathering, system testing, looking for knowledge stage.
this stage is necessary, testing and theory is great.


however if you really want to become a successful trader, you need to research and understand the instruments you are trading, the market you are trading and the players that move the market, as well as the system it is designed to serve.

you see with currencies, everything is reflected in the price, it is a macroeconomic vehicle of exchange, it encompasses, a conglomeration of interest.

and as you have yourself noted, indicators CAN be useful when used properly but ultimately is a binary system bid/ask buy/sell orders.

DO NOT BE MISTAKEN THAT there is TA OR FA, its an interrelated market, one is always the reflection of the other. Learn the Market and what moves the market. create your own strategies as only YOU KNOW yourself BEST.

the BEST advice i can give you is. Learn the market structure, and when analyzing price, start from the basic BID/ASK quotes, device a strategy to use the tools including charts bars,or candles to help you read the actual quotes. and make sure your system is flexible enough that you can trade it even with out, a platform, once you get it, you will understand.

Thanks redlion, spoken like a true expert. I know you're one of those long-lasting ff members here, but most dont share their experience, knowledge or useful advice. Thank you for your advice and thank you for making it more measurable and detailed for me.

That is an interesting conclusion when my response dealt with you explaining how your unlike doctor because you are thus able to "give a newbie-trader a good advice"

My point was: you are not all that hot shit yourself so I don't believe you are giving "good advice" or should be giving any advice for that matter..
