Minimum candle size is a good idea, so I have manually added a MinCandleRange to do some testing on this.

My live accounts are with FXCM and they do not allow for expiring pending orders. I am trying to find out why.

Regardless, if anyone has a suggestion, based on live account experience trading EAs, for an stp/ecn broker to trade this scalping system on please send me a PM.

While this is one possibility to establish a version of the bot, it certainly is not conclusive.

A suggestion is for Steve to include an incremental revision number for each release or version in the copyright property as it is easily readable in both mq4 and ex4 format with a normal text editor such as MS Notepad. If this is applied with discipline it would make it unambiguous as to which version is in use, which would help with debugging and support.

yeah i know that method is not infallible but if the numbers are out, then simple - you know something is different

if there the same - there could still be something different

however that and file size are the first things i always check, if there the same then i know i have to investigate further

Another thing that has popped into my head regarding this EA. If you are trading an account of 10k or 20k, some of the lot sizes may make liquidity an issue in live trading would it not?

If you were talking the source for the Aurora program .... there is nothing in the bottom right. The last part of my program ends like this ...

As a pro coder, whether in the past or not, mql4 will be a doddle. I am a 60 year old pianist with the logical thought processes of a retarded lettuce leaf; even I can code this stuff. Sort-of.

if you assume EVERY broker is ecn, and you always send your order in two stages it works every where even when your criminal is trying to be sneaky

i can see ecn brokers being an issue for manual trading (my broker is ecn) because you have to create the order, then go into terminal, modify etc.

(which is why i have an ea that simply adds missing sl's)

but for a robot, what's the problem, we already wait to make sure the order shows up in history,...

Trading times 7-17 uk now time.

my forward test results are
Wins = 22
Loss = 9

If only this would happen very week !!!!!!!

Don't even consider going there. I have explained many times why I cannot be arsed to adopt this or any of the umpteen other suggestions people come up with to increase my work load whilst decreasing that of those too dim to figure out for themselves that a download has failed.

Or take steps to make sure that it can succeed in the first place.

I am not here to hold than hands of the wet and pathetic.

And before you consider it trust me to know what I am talking about here: you really don't want to consider engaging me in a discussion about this.

Ok guys, moving on from some of the dafter posts I have just read:

Many thanks for the invaluable help that so many of you have given me this week. Without you, the bot would not be where it is now.

It looks as though we (and I really do mean 'we') have got the stealth stuff licked; I arrived home tonight to a bot that performed magnificently in my absence.

Having got the basics right, or at least appearing to - and who cares if they are not so long as the pips roll in - next thingy's on the horizon are:

 

  1. minimum trigger candle size. This will be an input for people to play with.
  2. jumpint/trailing/breakeven stops. Given the stealth nature of Aurora, there should be loads of opportunities for me to screw thing up in fresh and original ways.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but my result so far for last 3 days:

TF: started with M5 switched to M15 for one day to see if it will be any better but returned back to M5

EURUSD
W: 0 L: 9

EURJPY
W: 0 L: 4

GBPUSD
W: 0 L: 2

AUDUSD
W:2 L: 1

I dont know if it is caused by my criminal or only by short test period. It seems I'm the only one who has more losers than winners. So somewhere must be an error maybe somewhere between my PC and the chair. I tried the bot OOTB. I will try the latest version with hidden TP and SL.
