Gentlemen, many of you studied PA hard and mastered it. How did u study it? What's your favourite learning material? Pring? James16's thread?

Well i don't know, maybe get a brain first. Then it might give u the idea to go through a bit of all the material we have spent so many days sharing on our multiple learning resources...

You know i REALLY wonder if anybody actually ever read the first page on Kens thread... i suggest we change the first page of kens thread to subtley include a lot of dick and yo mama jokes....

Hmm, thank you Master Orbital for telling me that I'm lazy and stupid. You may be right...

However, I have spent about five months now studying the PIE thread - my trading got much better but I feel that I need MASTERING price and chart patterns before going on...

So I just dared to ask experienced traders to recommend a good book or something. Too many times I got into a dead end so an advice would be helpful.

Sorry to offend you guys....

This is because your mind refuses to keep it simple.

Draw zones > Where the price has reacted in a noticeable manner.

Watch PA > Let it show you whether or not it is reacting again in the direction to would consider to trade it.

If yes, enter the trade and place your stop below the zone you drew. Your TP would be the previous zone of supply id long or demand if short.

perhaps ive been overly aggressive as usual because we get a metric shitton of the same questions asked.

What does mastering even mean though? Let me phrase it this way: Asume you have a 20 CM dick. You have the right "hardware" to pretty much destroy anything out there in bed, but still watching porn youre wondering how the hell this and that works or this and that is done?
Work and finetune your technique is all i can say at this point, look if youre running profits keep at that for a while and start experimenting a bit on a demo on a demo plattform.

Certain techniques cant be taught because despite having the same tools everyone chooses to work differently with them. I wrote an article its on kens ROMTP google site thingy discussing THIS exact question as a matter of fact.

Different artists come to same conclusions with different results. I choose to ignore most trendlines and focus on only PA and structure (including S/D) these days. There are things i can show and share like my last post illustrating a classic beartrap on Euro and im going to post why i knew crude was going to drop beforehand in my next post (maybe).
Fact is there are things you can be shown but most things you need to understand and develop yourself. If you reach as certain stage there are no more textbooks.. there are only masterpieces and those take time to learn, i still havent figured out most of the Bear trap setups where as i know most of the bulltrap setups and even knowing this it will take me a considerable amount of time studying new things.

There are certain things i am not willing to share except with a very close circle of traders who have become very close to me. But thats a different discussion because those are things i have learned for myself while at the same time being taught more or less unknown things by them.

Im going to reocmmend Al Brooks reading price charts bar by bar to you, there are a lot of obvious things in there you know and lots of techniques you probably wont. Its a good start definitely but its a VERY dry read, so if youre not 100% dedicated to learning Price action i wouldnt even go near it.

Thanks, I read your article at Keny's website today and it actually provoked me to ask that unfortunate question. You write there that SD is not enough and that if anybody means it seriously, he must learn price action. It resonated in me because I've been on a losing streak this week and I'm quite desperate about it. But it also gives me enormous motivation to study on.

So it'll be Al Brooks, thank you very much. I'll get it asap.

After all the study, and finally becoming successful, one finds that most of what one studied was totally and utterly useless.

Here's a list of the most valuable resources I found on my journey:

James 16, for a very safe way to slowly but surely build an account.
I learned PA there, and the very important PPZ. The information he provided is invaluable. The drawback to the J16 method is that one absolutely needs large starting capital in order to make a living any time soon

Mouteki (http://mouteki.com/blog/?page_id=333)'s fib videos are excellent for learning about fibs.
Something clicked for me while studying Bobokus (http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=50767)' work on fibs. I don't remember what it was, and don't know if it was related to Bobokus, so am not sure of his relevance to the list

PIE, for Supply/Demand, the flag, the pole, TLs, complex PA setups. Seriously, in here, I met probably the best traders in the world!

Bulkowski (http://thepatternsite.com/chartpatterns.html), for frequently occurring chart patterns. If you like, go to my abbreviations (http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?p=4686246#post4686246) list for the ones I find most useful

RTP is now an excellent resource for trading techniques, and I look forward to it being even better.

All of these have been a great help to me, but I'm sure none of them could've been of any help without lots and lots of chart time.
Nobody ever read a few books on playing guitar and then picked one up, already a master.
There will be many many bum notes and bleeding fingers along the way, but after loads and loads of practice, the theory and practice will finally start to pay off.

Trading can be mastered, if you have the patience and flexibility to let let what you've learned become what you are.

Loosing streaks happen, there are different philosophies on how to deal with them, personally just stop if you dont feel up for it and start anew the next day.

PA is a bitch to learn and even then i have disagreements with people on PA because of targets.

Nothing can replace time spent watching charts really

The tier 2 swing high was lower than the tier 1 swing high.
(with only a tier 1 swing low in between)

I got a shock today.

I found out that somebody I have spent quite some time tutoring has set himself up as CEO of an investment advice company.

This is the same person who wrote to me on the first of August, saying

Certainly the guy has improved alot since then, but not quite to the stage where he should be selling trading advice.

I had been strongly considering posting possible setups and actual setups again on PIE, and spent alot of time today setting up charts for the purpose, but this has definitively changed my mind.
Certainly, I’d be very happy to help anybody here to make a living out of taking trades, but it sickens me to think that someone would just take the information and sell it.

From what I found out today, I am, quite frankly, disgusted.

I've told Orbital about it, and i'm sure he'll have alot more to say on the subject. He's very good at expressing my darker side.

That is outrageous! You know something... what goes around, comes around. It is clear that this guy is only focused on making money and that is ultimately his downfall. To take the information and pass it off as your own to sell is despicable. I can completely understand your frustration having been shat on by someone you trusted and confided in.
