I have just finished reading "Heads-Up Baseball" by Ken Ravizza and Tom Hanson. Clearly this isn't a book about trading, but it is about mental conditioning for peak performance. I think it will be of interest to anybody who believes that it is one's psychological welfare, in trading and life in general, that really needs to be worked on as a good basis for success.
From the back cover:
"What does it mean to play heads-up baseball? A heads-up player has confidence in his ability, keeps control in pressure situations and focuses on one pitch at a time. His mental skills enable him to play consistently at or near his best despite the adversity baseball presents each day."

One of the first and one of the best I've read. Just watched a presentation by Jake where he revealed his own trading methodology. It is available to view via this link:

The Book on Forex Trading by Stephen Margison is a good recent book.
it is straight to the point and obviously written by a trader with an interesting background.

I recommend 7 Winning Strategies for Trading Forex by Grace Cheng. It's a great read especially for the novices in the field.

If you ask me which book(s) about trading I read I can say that. Is it one of them the best book I don't know.

If you ask to say which book I like and why then that is totaly different story. Maybe I did not get what is purpose or idea of this thread.
Title of the book doesnt say nothing about quality of the book...

With this bunch of titles I don't know what you got so far...

Six readings of "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" may not be enough for everyone. I have read selected portions of this book for about 50 times or so. It is bit surprising why many people find it difficult to benefit from the concepts in this book. Probably becasue it requires some experience before one grasps Jesse's thoughts. This book offers everything required to develop trading skills.

Jesse's trading style may not suit everyone but his money management technique is excellent, it is just brilliant. Sometimes I doubt this technique...

I agree with this. "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" is a real Classic. The concepts are very powerful and we only need to grasp them.

Market Wizards books are both a big motivator and a great resource to learn a bit about how the big guys think, as well as some small hints to go into the right direction.

Ross's books have lots of good information in it, but his writing style is awful.

Most books out there are not worth the paper they are printed on.

Van Tharps money management book is nice too. Don't get distracted by his "does not matter when you buy and sell" (bullshit)approach, the money management part is very valuable.

My advice: Read lots of books, but verify the information by papertrading, you will soon find out that only 1% (if even that much) of what you can read about is usable, the rest is worthless. Take the <1%, concentrate on it, and expand on it, learn more from the markets itself by lots of trading and chart reading and you'll be successful. But It'll take a long time, so don't blow out your money until you are _really_ ready.

By far the best resource I have found on trading the price action.
http://www.learnforexlive.com

It is expensive compared to a book but indeed it does put all you know in an order and believe me it worth the money.

The down side is that the guy talks too much so the videos are lengthy but he is a great teacher and you will not get bored. There are some threads here in forex factory that discus his strategies. For example this is one of them http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=208630
