I think you should test it out. I personally have never used it. Would be interesting to see if it acts the same way as the normal divergence.

for anyone who wants to know about hidden divergence...here is a screen shot.

I don't use hidden divergence as it confuses things. I keep it simple by keep saying this to myself: price makes new high/low....oscillator should also make new high/low. if it doesn't then we have divergence.

I have never understood hidden divergence myself, its a cheap way to say regular divergence didnt workout, to confirm hidden divergence price has already moved past the break of the previous high/low and the trade is missed......

If someone can explain it better maybe I will understand though lol

I don't understand hidden divergence either. It just confused me more. Actually hidden divergence is not price break previous high/low. It's the oscillator that breaks previous high/low.

When we watch the charts and expect price to make new high/low and it doesn't but oscillator makes new high/low then its hidden divergence. I don't look for hidden divergence.

Vijidas, great visual summary about regular and hidden divergences.

If you notice on the screenshot on the bottom :

a) regular divergence = reversal
b) hidden divergence = continuation

The reason why razorman´s method works so well is because he includes price action in his trades. He waits for cycles/waves to complete and then uses RSI divergence to enter very early in the direction of a new wave pattern/structure.

Of course whole trading systems have been written around hidden divergences ( W. Wilder and others ), not just on RSI but mainly on using Stochastics and the re-alignment of lower timeframe stochastics per hidden divergence to the higher timeframe regular divergence....

Sounds confusing ? It sure is. That`s why I like simple and effective strategies more.

Great to see it applied in real-time per video.

Here is a great trade example on crude oil. As you can see time frame is not really so relevant. It van be a 1 3 10 15 minute. It all behaves the same way.

good trade. i saw that setup too but didn't take it because it is bank holiday weekend here in the UK and I was expecting the market to be slow. It was slow in london session but it looks like everything is normal for US session.

What sessions do you basically look for trade setup? I look for trade setup's from 07:00 hours till 16:00 hours UK time. So basically europe and first part of US session.

I try to stick to the main uk and us overlap. So till uk closes. Today because of holiday I guess the US is the main one.

hello razorman,

what do you think about this gold trade long?

divergence and good PA bar but I don't see any location/level for price to bounce off so I didn't take it. Would you have taken it if you trade gold?
