On a final note, I promise, to carry out a proper latency test, you should select the location where your broker is based using the above web site. If you don't know where their servers are based, phone them up and ask them where their data centre is. Then you can do the speedtest to the nearest location in the world where your broker's servers are. Below 20ms is excellent, 20-100 is OK, 100-250ms is bad and 250+ is aweful. I see many people complain on here about slippage or late execution and blame the broker. This can be completely avoided by using orders rather than market execution, but I do realise that when scalping, this is not always possible. They should also check THEIR Internet connection and latency to their broker who might have their trade execution servers on the other side of the world and therefore choose a broker closer to home. It should be part of the due diligence when choosing a broker especially if you are a scalper and require instant execution!
