Systems that work with indicators such as BBs, RSI, stochastics work just fine. You just have to know how to read price action in relation to the indicator action in order to spot arbitrage ops. Many times I see traders nix these mechanics simply because they do not know what their doing and blame it on the indicator, when in fact there is nothing wrong with the indicator. Very often, traders are defeated by themselves instead of their systems or the market itself due to the fact that they do not have the patience to wait for the good setups and proper entry signal.

Most of the time, it just depends on the trader, if they want and can handle a more complex system which gives more entry ops. I have a few different systems that I trade on my desk, and they can get quite complicated. They involve various indicators, algorithmic execution, limit flow arbitrage. So to say that systems with indicators and technical tools do not work is just being naive.

Because what works for you may not work for other people and vice versa, due to difference in ways of thinking. Never say what's impossible for other people to do including wanting any set up of indicators to work in any way. Let everyone decide for himself, experience anything he wants, and take any path he likes.

I'm not a fan of indicators either. I'm simply a speculator who is doing just fine ;-)

Good points. It took me years to successfully trade with MA crossovers....it is not easy to figure out. It is a labor of love. The only reason I advise against trading systems and EAs is because I have yet to find one that works. But I will not knock the guy who uses them. Perhaps he has figured a way to make them work for him. There are indicators that I have tried but could not figure out how to trade them profitably (RSI, MACD). That is not to suggest that they don't work....perhaps someone else has figured out how to make them work.

In that one trade you are going to lose everything whatever you have right now. Learn first money management.

why do he need to learn money management when he is not even willing to trade further?

Don't know what kind of post that is? If you are trying to be funny or something, you failed, and if you are being serious, then you are beyond help.

2. A simple brute to ensure you follow those simple set of rules

I agree with the OP, regardless if it's Forex or website design or anything in life, simple always wins out over complex, go naked man lol. Seriously though, I was in Forex for 8 months and much like the OP glued 15+ hours a day watching charts and reading everything to help. I got twisted up with oscillators, indicators, special .v2000 pip gainer programs, with less then stellar results, it's about screen time, not trading but watching, cleaning your MT4 of all thing extra, I mean everything extra.

Without the distractions and noise from those indicators, you start to see the candles and the fight between bears and bulls. You can see the little tricks on the 15 minute chart that spans out to the 4 hour and what the day chart is speaking, it becomes clearer, all you will get from clutter is a false sense of reliance. I took 9 months off from Forex to clear my head, get away from it all, now I have a newer, clearer perspective, less is better and I am proving it through my trades.

Consider this a bit preachy but most of you will not get this, possibly ever, pride may get in the way or your comfort level does don't wish to be shaken up. Whatever it is, take some months and strip one thing at a time, readjust and see if you are not more successful then ever.

So many discussions (or 1000s word articles) about "Here is the right way to trade". A newbie on FF can easily get frustrated by looking at these discussions. The systems should be written in way of suggestion and not like imposing on others (as this one).

oh and a business partner who has a knack for fundamental everything!!!
