[left]This theory is the old Newtonian Physics. Humanity have discovered quantum physics. That's why anyone who have read my post would have read what I mention about 6Dimension charting. We live in a Quantum physics world. Newtonian physics are rigid... Thoughts, emotions & behaviors resides in quantum physics.
If you break down trading, it is simply supply/demand or mass behavior... [b][color=DarkRed]But... there is a force which animates price movements beyond supply/demand or mass...
IMHO, while there is a core of a pitchfork started, a channel extended from that pitchfork works better.

i looked, but i honestly can't understand the image you attached (maybe i'm too tired). the more of your posts i read the more i have this idea of you in a room with thousands of things scribbled across all of the walls, floor, and ceiling.

Why are you taking into account only the heights between A,B and C? Pitchfork uses both pip difference and delta time between pivots to draw lines.
Sorry. I've eliminated time factor from my trading. Because if you add time it becomes Newtonian and rigid. Yes, Pitchforks takes TIME into account .
My diagram explained only the calculated inertia (the channel). If you add TIME into the equation, it calculates the "projected angle of the channel".
And I agree; Time, Mass, Acceleration are an important factor in Newton's forces. Just remember, when dealing with price, we are NOT dealing with tangible material objects... So why would we use Newtonian physics (a tangible based theory in our application)?

Hi mahdi,
after some years with Pitchforks I have found that it works best on higher timeframes such as 4h and higher. Also, I found that it works better in futures and stocks and commodities. FX is to a great extent manipulated, which means there are often exaggerated spikes - it is often difficult to apply the correct pivot points for drawing a fork.
A clever and neat way is to be seen if you look through eaglestar`s and especially wmd`s posts, they work with parallel lines and trendlines on higher timeframes such as 1h and 4h, then drop down to 15min, 30min or occasionally to 5min in order to get a better entry. -- This might not be the classic textbook way like pitchforks, but it is practical and leaves no room for either theoretical speculations or the effort to fit price in a pattern.
I do agree that after studying pitchforks for a few years you get a feeling for angles ( and therefore strength of trend, exhaustion of trend ), but it is not ultimately necessary.
I also notice that pitchfork and geometric traders see the market too abstract and like an engineer.....remember that smart money wants to buy at best price, force others to liquidate their position etc. No need to get paranoid, but being aware of intentions, of stop levels and fake dips before the real move ( see London open almost every day ) is a must. No neatly drawn pitchfork will provide a solution then, even if price eventually resumes its fork direction.
As to the why, this has been answered above, as Tim Morge ( or auxesis here in FF ) noticed, the fork should be drawn in a 4 dimensional space, or incorporating the sine wave spacial aspects.

I think one can better trade when he exactly knows what he is doing and why he is doing that. Repeating other people's actions and drawing the same lines as others draw does not help anyone becoming profitable.
However, all I gave example of was that if you base lines on candlework, especially on the balance lain within them, you'll get a more accurate projection.
So, a verbal description of the second chart --
The second picture has C higher than A and lower than B, as per definition posted.
I found in the second chart two solid boxes to serve for B and C, from which a failed (from C) / short (from B) pitchfork extended. There is a channel perpendicular to the trend extending from boxes B and C. Pivots and the middle of spinning tops serve as A and confirming points further along the lines.
That there is ninety degrees between the B-C line and the line projecting from A (and B and C), did okay with the B-C line being additionally defined with small lines extending from the two boxes to the trend's edges.
The large spike from box B, at first (and much later) going with its top pivot being confirmed at the same price level with the midpoint of the trend before the start of the channel's trend,
also establishes most of the channel's contents as to go in the upper portion.
Perhaps this verbal description of the second chart further muddles what I posted. What I posted, though, does give details as to how the original chart's pitchfork, and indeed, any pitchfork for the trend applied to in that chart, fails to work. Any line drawn on a chart must follow what price says first, so that a special line -- such as a pitchfork -- must find where its logic fits among price's meanderings.
To me, it's absurd to post a sloppy chart and then ask for the logic of a drawn line in that chart while rejecting possible evidence of how the chart is sloppy after the logic is applied.
CP's "projected angle of the channel" -- I'm not sure this applies, but I drew a pitchfork on MT4's current g/u 1' chart just now, and saw that pitchfork-line B is often lower than a pitchfork's center line A.
I also saw another way to help create a better pitchfork -- to me, the candles on a chart provide a reason, i.e. a logic, for drawing anything on the chart, as well as there being a logical definition for a pitchfork in and of itself -- with the following chart.
The chart below contains two small cycles, each highlighted with a box, that frame where a pitchfork's two outer lines may go, as well as a reasonable starting point for the middle line.
I post this alongside my second chart's two boxes B and C, for comparison's sake. It seems the chart below's two cycles help create a pitchfork that, while long-lived, is also less representative of the entire chart than the channel is in the second chart (although that channel, according to MT4's rendition of a pitchfork, may indeed be a pitchfork.)
There's also an interesting pitchfork at (in PST (mb trading)) 1(A, or mid): 2011.08.01 14:29 1.627609, 2(B, or high): 2011.08.01 10:43 1.630926, 3(C, or low): 2011.08.01 10:58 1.62377. It goes backwards and hits all kinds of confirmation much earlier; if one puts trendlines on the pitchfork's tines to go forward, the big messy area at the hard right edge of the chart pictured above is explained some and helps provide direction.
Sorry if I distracted from the thread's original purpose, I tend to think in candle logic and then lines when I see a chart up this close.

Michael Faraday told the science community that "there is an unseen force field surrounding a wire" and everybody laughed. I tell you, there is a force which is a lot simple than supply and demand. It's been discovered but never been released to the public and I highly doubt it will ever be.
Is the scribbled graph a random noise?... Find me a random atom that has no purpose in this universe
