of course your right with an overlay chart of 2 curencies used as a corelation of 2
but in this we are looking at 14 currencys as an example look at brians 3 index croosing of major 8 at zero as an example
if you read the thread you would have noticed the 3 currencys eurusd gbpusd and eurgbp used in some economic courses and there mathmatical calculations on zero
your overlay chart shows zero on 2 cureencys can be a floating point its correct
i use that on brians tds price with the dollar index many times indicater
the use of an overlay chart can be helpfuly in trading a single currency against a second cureency corelation using the sizzor action and the floating zero
also quite good on the usdcad using the usdjpy as the trend long or short using the 4 hour chart
the zero cross you mentioned as floating is well understood
i like using that as per the brians index and dollar index as a indicater of one currency against the dolar index and zero
but this is an advanced multicurrency trading strategy discussion of multi currency trading
your floating zero is a corelation strategy of 2 currencys
your observation was corect of the floating zero in a 2 curency strategy
the indicater for looking at the movements is simple apply the overlay charts over 14 currencys simular to brians index of the major 8
on ff forum hanover done a very good one as an indicator on all time frames , then you can see how hard it is visualy to see the costant zero
of 14
i think brians index of the major 8 shows this constant fairly accurate
but in reality and proof has been done not only mathmaticaly but on
excell spread sheets done by some traders of zero on multicurrys
trading as a reality
the simple formula on the three shows how exact it is and also pauls and trade4 funs work on the dashboard and matmaticaly confirmed in excell
by the team
thank you for bringing up the corelation of 2 with an overlay chart
and the floating zero
its a very handy tool in single curency trading
God bless from Brian

DislikedHi all! after studying the zero point I notised that it is even more complicated,
the cross isn't allways coming at zero, see pic,
in fact they are very selldom coming at what we would call a zero line
unless we are looking at a pairs like EURUSD USDDDK or USDRUB which are allmost compleatly mirroring eachother,
I agree the crossings are key and to calculate where they are going to be
and put it all in a indi isn't going to be easy,
but I have an idea about it I would like to share,
unfortunally my skills as a programmer is far less than my...Ignored
