Hi Steve,

I think I have spotted copy-and-paste error on Bollinger Bands calculation, should the last parameter be 1 in both statements?

double PrevBbUpper = iBands(NULL, 0, BbPeriod, BbDeviation, 0, PRICE_OPEN, MODE_UPPER, 1);
double PrevBbLower = iBands(NULL, 0, BbPeriod, BbDeviation, 0, PRICE_OPEN, MODE_LOWER, 0);

Regards,
Z

Yes, thanks. I have fixed this - post 1 as usual. I have made them both a shift value of 0. I also tidied up a bit of the 'tp hit' code.

Cheers

zkucera has just pm'd to point out that the latest fix not only fails to fix the bloop, but actually made it works. As it stands, the BB code will kill trading stone dead for ever.

Proper fix in post 1.

Cheers Z. Most helpful, as always.

Steve, if you have time to answer this.. how if i want to use this EA at same pair, but the first is alwayst start with sell and the 2nd always start with sell i already try to change magic number but it always only one position open, not both.. my idea is like this A. 1st EA 2nd EA start SELL 1 LOT start BUY 1 LOT if price going up so 1st EA hit SL and 2nd EA hit TP 1st EA 2nd EA open BUY 2 LOT OPEN SELL 1 LOT (and vicaversa..) B. if price going up again .so 1st EA hit TP and 2nd EA hit SL 1st EA open SELL 1 LOT 2nd EA open BUY 2 LOT other scenario is if price going down from section A, then 1st EA open SELL 4 LOT 2nd EA open BUY 2 LOT IMHO our equity will be more survive.. what do you think.... ? thx b4

This sounds like something to blow whips fun-o-meter off the wall.

You have to turn off all auto-detection thingies as well as have a separate magic number and initial trade choice set to either long or short. The attached set files will do this for you- the titles refer to the direction of the initial trade and the bot will fire up the trade as soon as loaded and continue to fire them until you close it down. The trade comments refer to the type of trade that started the sequence.

Have fun. I have this idea running on demo already.

I liked the sound of this idea. However, Steve, I placed the 2 versions ea on demo using the recent set files and immediately noticed a problem. Lets say ea1 places a buy trade and ea2 places a sell trade. The market falls therefore ea1 hits sl and ea2 hits tp. We then get ea1 placing a sell trade for 2 the original lot size and ea2 placing a sell trade as it starts all over again.

I think the point Stevenali was suggesting was that the ea must also react to the most recent trade. ie in the above example ea1 places sell trade for 2x original lot size and ea2 changes to placing a single buy trade (even though the setfile is set up to trade short only). What we would need is for the ea to be able to place an initial trade upon restart which is the opposite of its last successful tp trade. This way each version of the ea always has an opposite trade helping to reduce the dd.

Hope this helps

Paul

I am not going to get involved in correlations. These are great until the correlation breaks down - and it does so frequently. You can easily find yourself on the wrong side of both trades with disastrous consequences and an even more rapid account wipe-out when martingaling.

Martingale definitely will blow up account, if used blindly.

If combined with entry system with very high consistency, say 1 profitable trade every 4 entries, what do you think will happen? ;-)

You can still use it blindly if you like ;-)
The tone of your words reflects the quality and result of your trading ;-)
