DislikedHi Cuthbert. There is a difference between people how they solve such situations. To recognize a risk and ability to solve the problematic situations is, what makes the difference between traders and non-traders. It is not a problem to close trade in nice profit... But ability to safe the account when in danger.../to be able to kill, to flip, to reload.... after waiting... , to be able not to hunt a loss "now"/...........
I still must stress, that we dont discuss risk management enough here! There are many discussions about types trades, fundament...Ignored
Dislikedhi Fana and Fti,
Knowing MM is only a chip in the ship, to implement it in the battlefield is yet another thing. After reading the thread and having the chance to attend Niels handheld sessions, I had a fair understanding of how that double edged sword works but the taste to implement it could only be felt yesterday.
yes you are right that p/l does not matter. I was not very good like most of you must have been in the battlefield but was good enough to protect the book. The concern is that, you know, i am feeling creepy that good God in heavens...Ignored
DislikedI agree with MM being more a mindset thing than a ratio/size thing. Only one trader can decide if he send a rescue to early or too soon, too big or too small. Depends on his determination on that particular battle and the health of his book.
I want to share that I started trading live this week implementing FTI's teachings (or my understanding of them). I feel that J16's advice of trying any tweak to your methodology for at least 3 profitable months on demo is good advice. Even more important, on this kind of strategies, is the ability to experience...Ignored

Just for education. the euro in dealing circles is known as the E Q. Historically the usd was the man man of the street, so usd depos in London and europe are known as the euro aka eurodollar deposits. Now that the usd had lost its status, we need reinvent the world financial system, lest the world stops international trade.Ignored
Dislikednow panda may take a stance at 1.42. Much pips in between 1.4 and 1.5 for the nimble men and boys with guns and slingshots respectively.

why would they restance at 1.42?
they not in this for trading profits, they in to protect their invested interest only. think again.
If euro or cable becomes too strong, they only imports inflation, which is already hovering at dangerous levels. Cannot allow galloping inflation , so there will be cap. But as traders no need get into the nitty grittys, just flow with market, but beaware of illquidity. I am ashamed big boys have no handle where the markets are at. Totally ashamed. Everyone only seems to be scalping, esp big boys....Ignored
Disliked@fti last but not least. Was Gro the smallcap that hit the asphalt? Whoever it was must answer to his/her own greed and stupidity. You should in no way feel responsible. Pain is a great teacher, maybe the best for some. Anybody with a sound mind knows that following other traders trades is a suicide for the account. If not, then lesson learned. fti, you need the energy for yourself and putting any kind of burden on you is selfish, irresponsible and even reckless. Maybe its best that I don't know the smallcaps name.. makes me really angry....Ignored

DislikedFTI..."You The Man!" Your ability to feel the market's pulse always leaves me speechless. I know I don't post very often, that's because I'm still learning. Working my way through my second reading of the first 200 pages and skimming the other pages just in case there are any golden nuggets here and there.
Last month the FED quietly extended it's US Dollar Liquidity Swap lines with the BOC, BOE, ECB, and SNB. I saw this as an act of desperation and I figured the Eurodollar market was in trouble. They are trying to resuscitate a patient that...Ignored
