Yes, as somebody else put it, if you already have hundreds of millions or billions then you can do it within a year.

Otherwise, no you can't, better to just buy a lottery ticket.

Either way it looks so simple but it never pans out that way. To many things going wrong to many things like brokers working against you when they see your making money.

Is it possible to make millions trading forex in less than a year, you say? Yes, but you need to be extremely lucky and gutsy! Let me explain...

Let's say you have $3,000 starting capital and you short 3 standard lots (100K) of EUR/USD. Your broker gives you a 400:1 leverage, meaning you can buy 1 lot for about $750 margin money. The price wanders a little bit and then immediately goes in your direction in a big way. After 6 months the euro has become so weak that you collect 2,000 pips from your short position and your balance shows a total of $63,000 ($60,000 profit + $3,000 capital).

You take another look at the EUR/USD and now you see a good buying opportunity. With your $63,000 you buy about 50 lots. Again the euro does not give you a hard time and quickly goes up fast. So fast that in less than 5 months it is now 2,000 pips above your buying price.

And there you go, you are now sitting on a cool million dollar profit and you started with only $3,000!

Again this type of scenario is highly unlikely, but the possibility of making a fast killing in the Forex market using high leverage is what drove millions of speculators to this market.
