Quite frankly, I can't be bothered trading that pair right now. Too many headline risks coming out of Europe. Although it has bounced, I am starting to see a triangle. But to be honest I think that every time the EUR rises a few hundred pips, something new will come along to knock it back down. I am bearish too.....but not willing to trade it at this level.

I have to say that I am only trading eurusd at the moment. I find that if I try to trade all and every market I lose discipline really easily and nothing else trades so technicaly. I am trading it on three different accounts for weekly (no position at the moment due to the triangle forming), daily (ditto) and hourly. To trade it hourly I look at the daily for a probable direction for the day (Monday is likely to be a down day so I will look for shorts but only as far as either the rising trendline or 1.41 next strong support) and then look to trade in that direction. I find that I understand the movement quite well, maybe it is just a feel I have developed. If you look it moves in quite a predictable way with an impulse, consolidation, impulse, consolidation and the best bit is the impulses tend to occur in the morning GMT so you only need to look for a trade during the AM session and if you get a good trade you can take 60 to 120 pips with a 20 or 30 pip stop. I know this is not the method taught on this thread but I feel more comfortable on this thread than any other as I incorporate the best ideas I have learnt from the best threads and this thread definitely gave me a better view of s/r and also psychology.

Attached is a EUR/USD chart showing the recent triangle that caught a lot of attention. As you can see - 1.40 is the real battleground, and now the 200 day moving average comes in at this level as well. I am not a MA trader as such, but I do know that a lot of people pay attention to the 200 day.....

Maybe, but I don't know.....it all depends on which US team shows up.....when they are on it - there are a lot of men's teams they could take out.

It is fun seeing our women being so competitive at the biggest sport in the world.

It is a shame that all of our would be GREAT soccer players in the USA end up playing American Football. American Football is the greatest sport in the world, the problem is the great expense to field a team, the great number of injuries, and the great number of people required make it a sport that likely will never be fully appreciated outside of the USA.

So while we have athletes that would leave the world saying "no way is that possible", they don't play soccer, they play WR or CB in the NFL. Our 6'5" 240 lbs. are as fast if not faster and have the endurance, but they get paid far more to catch a football.

Gold and Silver Trading To Be Illegal Starting July 15, 2011

The Dodd-Frank Act has changed a number of laws in all of the securities acts including the Commodity Exchange Act. One of the impacts of this regulation is that it prohibits United States residents from trading over the counter (OTC) precious metals, including gold and silver, starting Friday, July 15, 2011.
More specifically, as Dodd-Frank will come into effect on July 15 it will bring to live Section 742—Retail Commodity Transactions. Part of this section amends the Commodities Exchange Act by placing spot commodity transaction (in this case, OTC precious metal spots) under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
As the proposal for this change entered public scrutiny last August, legal and financial experts assumed that the CFTC would rescue these retail products by creating a regulatory structure. However, with only few days until the July deadline, it is almost impossible that that CFTC will rescue OTC precious metal spots.
The new amendment offers several exemptions. Eligible contract participants (ECPs) and eligible commercial entities (ECEs) are free to trade as they like. Retail transactions are also exempt from CFTC oversight if they either result in a physical delivery within 28 days or create an enforceable obligation. However, as the OTC market currently stands, very few precious metal spots would qualify for these exemptions. The result, as the amendment will go into effect on July 15, off-exchange spot transactions will become illegal in the United States.
With the magic wand of the Dodd- Frank, the CFTC has used its authority to shut down the OTC spot precious metals domestic market down entirely, however you will still have the opportunity to trade these products on the regulated US exchanges.
Clearly, the new amendment represents a series of escalating restrictive measures placed on the once-unregulated precious metal spots market. However, the question now becomes: what will happen to gold prices from now until July 15, and from July 15 onwards? That remains to be seen, but it might be a good opportunity for those with a sharp market understanding!

Yeah, I wasn't really into it but just noticed it on the chart. That's never going to play out. Eurusd has been wild for a few days, I got some nice shorts from the 1 hour but from a daily point of view you would need to be in from the trendline bounce like our esteemed hero egkid!

Shame, gold could be setting up for a short here.

Chris, it seems usd is making a bit of a comeback slowly. Could this send gold lower in itself?
