Oh wait I see now, the 20 SMA is allready built into the EA. OK then I will add the ATR filter, I will set defaults to what you say but make the variables external so you can change for backtesting ect.

I've added the ATR and done some backtesting, with and without ATR. The ATR causes significant loss unless it's period is set as high as 22, in which case it caused the EA to make VERY slightly more money in the optimized period. This is only with the optimized values from Apl 08 to Oct 09.

If only 10k in acct, will crash & burn if lots > 0.01.
With 25K in acct, maybe ok with 0.1 lots.

parameters I used: 30min, SD=40, TP=95, SL=40, UseHourTrade=false, 10k starting amt.
57K profit, 58K prifit with ATR(22), 0.0012 limit
I also set these parameters to default and USE_ATR=false as default.

Anyone using this stratergy ?

I try to simulate price movement on Excel sheet.
On excel sheet there is Slider , by moving silder up and down you can create 200pip + - move from first entry spot. and observe Profit / loss changes.
Problem i observe with this stratergy is..during range bound lot size goes on increasing..and causes margin problem.

Indicator is only usefull for first entry direction.
EA posted in this thread is not correct...it do not generate profit.
need some changes to close pos based on profit target based on how much total orders open.

Pl go through Excell file for simulation of price movement
you can put 0 and 1 to enable order level in enabe col.

Need some brain storming to see possibility of improvement of this stratergy

Best Regards

No, the whole idea behind this is *not* good. You will always blow up eventually. There's no filter, indicator or moon phase that will prevent it.

This is one of those ideas that sounds plausible and looks good on paper. But when you actually have to sit through those periods where your margin is disappearing at an accelerating rate, you'll be bleeding from your ears. It's not worth it.

My god, at least with a canonical Martingale you're merely doubling your position. With this "system" you're tripling! It's insanity.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

Ok intresting though you have there. And on a way i can agree with you. By trading it everyday same time and on the same market it will blow up youre account eventualy. But that is why i wanted it to be coded so that it can trade different markets. so you look for the different news releases and look which is good market movers. No one can realy say what movement a market will make but just that it will move the market. You set youre settings correctly for the market so that the news will not move just inside the range. You make youre 30 pips and then you turn off the ea. You get youre 2 to 3 trades a day of 30 pips. And then you go away from the market. Like for instance this afternoon i will trade cad/usd employment change and usd/jpy i will trade at nfp. Will post my results. If anyone also want the ea that can trade anymarket and not just eu you can let me know.

I think this strategy is good if we choose the right market and the right time. Please share your idea to select the market and the proper settings. Particularly i would like to know how to manage lot size for the capital too.
BTW Paulo_Costa_Hedge EA did not work like the concept sequence.
Example : sell 0.1 lot then buy 0.3 lots
after that 0.3 lots reached target but 0.1 lot was not closed.
So i would like you to share your EA.
Thank you in advance.

hi ok i have a version of this strategy that works on every market but i dont use it anymore. it could have been a killer money making machine during news times and i made some good pips with it. but the problem is with news releases the market moves to fast and brokers cannot guarentee prices so then a peding order is taken late and that makes that the whole ea dont work correctly then then that order is taken when it must have already reached its tp. If you can get some broker which can guarentee prices then we can trade this

Hope this help

Regards

Hi I have the same trading systems and also looking into coding this into an EA.

We have the same problem when manually trade this when we set the SL the same as the TP, and very often the SL hits but the TP did not because of the spreads.

So don't use SL but close all open and pending positions when TP is hit. I think this can be done by a script into the EA..
