I witnessed the Bunnygirl melt down and her exit from forex over on strategybuilederfx.

Bunnygirl had sold private mentoring classes to some guy for several thousand dollars.

Part of the deal was she guaranteed he would make his money back- plus, or she would continue the classes until he did.

He wouldn't trade over 10 cents a pip, and after about a month she dumped him.

He opened up a thread accusing her of being a scam artist and they got into it for a couple of days.

He finally threatened to reveal her Big Secret ingredient if she didn't...

I watched when she first came onto the scene in the old M'tec chat room. She broke her own rules as much as she followed them, and was getting trading advice on the side from other forum members there.

Yes a meltdown.

Can't forget the Skunny cult:

- "Indicator-free Trading" (if you don't count the fib lines every two pips)

- Fibs accurate to the pip every time ($100 a month and he'll show you how)

- But don't question it... it's for the chiiilllldddrreeeeennnnnn....

With the 'so called' reputation and the length of thread before he went commercial.....do any of the above beat the good old Jacko's house of please and apparently a huge amount of pain!!
What you do is a reflection of you....what I do is a reflection of me.

Wasn't she on MoneyTec as well? I kind of remember the name and all the drama about it. My favorite was the Euro thread on that site using EW. What a huge laugh and warning about following gurus on sites.

I've devoted a lot of time and effort over the last 6 months to creating a system of my own design. I was thinking of posting it in the trading systems forum eventually, but I should probably just save everyone a lot of fuss and bother and post it here

Not sure what the point of the thread is but if its a scrap heap then surely the Thread starter should have at least a few dozen. Sure they didnt gather a huge following but over 200 threads.

People who live in stone houses shouldnt throw glass.

My next guess will be this one will wither and die but you never know, its a matter for anyone who wants to dig up dead threads to keep this one going

Ahhhh I remember that one, probably one of the first of the gigantic mega guru/minion threads of its kind.

Wasn't it something like "Riding the EUR/USD wave with Uncle Elliot"? What interested me most about that thread was that he actually made live calls with SL's and TP's and everything. Sometimes it seemed the stops would be fudged a little to avoid losses, and if it was close there might be the "hmmm no the high on my platform was 3483, not 3487, so I didnt get stopped out" type of response. But I still respected the fact that he made the live calls.

The tipoff for me was that whenever he would take a loss he would say something like "I did some high probability scalping during the asian session and recovered the losses from yesterday". LOL. This happened just about every other day. I wanted so badly to ask him "If your so damn good at the high probability scalping, why dont you just do THAT instead of this Elliot Wave crap" but I figured I would get about 50 minions down my throat and probably banned from the site.

Funniest post this year!

Can't believe I didn't bail out instantly when Skunny attributed the supposed success of his system to the 'rulers of the world' who used the fib method he had discovered to manufacture their exact plan for future exchange rates... something like that anyway.

Nice to remember these things. It's evidence that I'm getting atleast a little less stupid than I used to be.

Yeah, every single one of my threads is dead. I wasn't "throwing stones" so much as making observations that in my 6 years of being a member on this forum, I have seen a lot of whiz bang methods come and go.

The herd psychology of the masses... hopping aboard the next best thing, with visions of yachts and lamborghinis in their head, only to see the original poster abandon it after a few months.

Jacko is probably the most memorable, but it is fun to reminisce over the snake oil salesmen, no?

This is a very entertaining thread. If it weren't, folks wouldn't be partcipating. It sounds from your tone that you don't really care for my FF contributions. And to you, sir, I say I DON'T CARE.

Hilarious signature, bro! You made my day with that one....

She may have been on Money Tec, but her mother church was SBFX. That's where her mega thread was located.

El Cid (later FXOilPro) was another one who ran big guru threads back then.
He's still around somewhere. He gets banned now from forums about like TRO does. I don't think he's ever shown up here.

Dolly was another big system 5 or 6 years ago.

I've noticed there isn't much cross pollination between these forums.

Most of the gurus find a home and stay there.

TRO is the only one I know of who is well known on all the forums.

This thread belongs at #1 in the Hall of Fame:

http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=165948

I've been around these forums since about 2004 or2005 and have never seen anything to beat it.

Every scammer and con artist in forex migrated to it.

Edgetrader and TudorGirl made their debuts in this thread.

TRO was in it with at least two of his personas.

If you've got the time to scan through it, it's better than any movie.

i am funny? you are too kind. i really like how you love using that same laughing character that fti uses all the time. you are truly a minion worthy of his praise.

anyway this is interesting. i'll play this game with you for now...

what i remember is fti and his minions having a load of posts removed from the thread due to clearly violating twee's rules. i remember fti having a big old cry because he wasn't treated differently to every other member on FF and wasn't permitted to spew his religious bullshit on a forum that forbids such actions, and so he left in a huff and puff and a big old tear in his eye. i remember all the minions having a big cry and hassling twee, and some muppets took it upon themselves to even broadcast private conversations between themselves and twee without twee's permission, and as such the posts were not simply put in the recycle bin like all other removed posts, instead they were DELETED PERMANENTLY from the forum (that's a pretty big clue to how twee / the mods felt about such self-indulgent behaviour). i remember fti coming back and banning me, then banning another member, and then i think another member again. pretty-much anyone who calls him out as the wannabe-guru/god leading his cult into the fire gets insta-banned, while ensuring that nobody is allowed to post anything concrete which could then be criticized and have the potential flaws discussed. you either do as he says or you are the enemy. seems pretty cult-like / guru'ish behaviour to me.

considering no one is allowed to criticize him i find it interesting that he permits himself to criticize his most faithful and seemingly successful of minions. is quick to put-down mamood for not having a facebook picture to ID himself with and so removes him from his friends list, and is very critical of mamood for DARING to try and teach other people... taking away from fti's self-prescribed status of the only person worthy of teaching anyone anything at any time.

thanks for playing "what i remember". this was fun lusan. let's do it again some time.

once fti quits for good and finds out if his religious bullshit was worth the ascii he printed about it all we'll see that thread go the way of the dodo. i give it under a year. by the next financial year TAF won't even be on the first page of the Trading Discussion section. it's already fading fast since fti has gone on holiday. once that's permanent it's clear what happens next.

buhbyes.

Wow

One of Aesop's fables was a story about a Fox and some grapes, hence the idiom "sour grapes" or the premise of pretending to not care for something one can not have.
