lol couldnt take profit chart froze and cant re-log until price went back to hit my SL.. luckily SL was placed!

Hmmmmm.... Same 'Ol IBFX - Still playing games, still cheating people. That sounds suspiciously like the Virtual-Dealer plugin (or custom programmed equivalent so they can deny using VD)

I dont know, isnt ibfx kinda trusted? maybe its just the server lagged? but this is my first time encountering this.


So i'll just excuse this one. But if this happends again i might look into other broker.

NO!! Its mostly a newbie shop. Experienced FX traders avoid MT4 and those that use it like MB Trading, Oanda, ATC Brokers, FinFX and true ECN's off the top of my head. IBFX is a good shop for everything but trading. (deposit, withdrawal, website, contests, freebies). They play with the feed quite a bit. (at least they did when I was a client and I NEVER hear them mentioned in serious FX conversations. Training Wheels.)

I'm going live with them later today. I can note that on the demo, the spreads do whipsaw quite a bit. If running an EA, best to have a spread monitor that can disallow trades if spreads exceed xx.x pips. very useful. I had the alert 1 pip above their average spread, which is still higher than most brokers (except maybe fxcm).

The things we do for nano-lots (100 units lot of base currency).

Honestly, it's a good option for non-us clients. I can agree that there are other options out there. MT5 will change a lot of things.

I also agree with Aja in the sense that a broker with enough cash can have someone program their own custom virtual dealer. Technically currenex and other liquidity providers already provide brokers with this ability. The whole virtual dealer thing was just bad press for metaquotes. Retail forex.

It is not uncommon for a daily reboot or maintenance window of some kind for financial markets. 3 minutes is actually pretty good. MBT is 10-15 minutes. GoM can sometimes be 3-7.

there nothing blatant at all, most ecn have a downtime, although IBFX is not a ecn but i can understand why they have a down time

Then why are there brokers out there that advertise zero downtime, and my previous broker even advertised "no reboots".

How do they do it when the others can't?

It seems unprofessional to make excuses for them. If you're running a professional business you would make certain there is no down time, you build in redundancy to account for servers that might need to be rebooted at times.

There is no excuse good enough IMHO.
