Could you help me ?? I have followed this thread for the last 3 days reading that is. my MTF stoch , is not like you guys mtf stoch ..... mine is like a worm,going from red to yellow and then to green....weird !! how do I get it to the step up for buy and the step down for the sell?? that all you guys have ??? I know this is a simpleton type question ,and believe me I don't like asking like this ,but I am at the end of my tether,buggering about with this.... without telling me I am a silly old sod could you explain why I cannot get the steps instead of the worm ? please dont ask for a picture ( I cant do that either ) but I keep trying..... lotv.

I have attached the color stoach.. load that to your meta.. than posted to your chart... after that.. set the time frame to 60 and the settings to 14,3,3.. you should see the steps right after..

Make sure your Color Stoch indicator under "Inputs" has "Time Frame" set to 240 for the 4hr stoch. Set KPeriod to 10, DPeriod to 3, Slowing to 3. (For 4 Hr, follow PDean's settings for 1Hr)


Set your colors as follows: first row with the 255 numbers is the setting for "None".

I don't know if you have cured your problem with your MT4 but I had a similar problem a few months ago where my MT4 of long standing kept freezing my computer.
For those who has similar problem, here is the solution:
- close your MT4
- go to MT4 indicators folder (C:/MT4/experts/indicators/)
- delete all EX4 files which have MQ4 files
- DON'T DELETE EX4 files which not have MQ4 files
- start your MT4

For the example, you have 2 files :
- Color Stochastic v1[1].04.ex4
- Color Stochastic v1[1].04.mq4
Delete only Color Stochastic v1[1].04.ex4

But if you have only EX4 without MQ4 file, DON'T DELETE it.

MT4 crashing problem usually because the EX4 files previously created by a newer version MT4 than your have right now.

Deleting all EX4 will force your MT4 to create a new EX4 (which has same version with your MT4) from MQ4 file.

Hope this will help all of you.
Took a short here guys guided by the 240 stoch, market very slow, perhaps the lull before New York open?

opened USDCHF trade, quick scalp (divergent 1hr/4hr stochs) hopefully down to lower band

EDIT: thinking about this maybe not such a good time to trade, just before NY open and high impact news shortly after, will wait and see

What are the settings of your MAMethod (sma, ema,smma or lwma) and Price Field (high/low or close/close)?

I have checed the latest template of Kevin (5m kevinator retracement system-2.tpl) was set with Price Field of close/close and the earlier version was high/low. I am not sure which one to use.

I didn't ask you to suggest, I already have real account on one of this brokers, but the platform is crashing, that why I asked you maybe on your broker i can monitor charts and make demo trades while I'm troubleshooting the problem with this platforms.

Hi Harry,

on the color stoach i have not touched anything but the tf and setting for 60 to 14,3,3 and 240 to 10,3,3.. that's it.. rest is all keept with the original default.

I think you'll find the answer to your problem is that when you load your chart it is in a time frame other than 5 minutes.

Let us know if that was the problem.

My charts load in the 60 min time frame and that gives me "the snake" until I change to the 5 minute time frame when "the snake" changes into a step.

yes Di.. i got the visualization on the 5M only... on other tf it would go back to the snake look.
I only look at the 5M tf chart anyways.. no need to cross our eyes in all TF's considering the constant scanning of 5-10 pairs.. lol
Two fine gentlemen indeed, it worked wonderfully well, and my view of this trading system is very very much clearer. One question though you both use different time frames ??? I am using 5 min scalping,should I drop the time frame to 05 min ????.....once again many thanks, and when in Western Australia pop in for a glass of RED NED or five, it should be a merry olde time. Well, market has slow down in mass and it's just pulling a slow one direction move on most pairs without giving us the decent MOM setup... this is were PATIENCE plays a big role as to wait for the good setups..

* if it keeps going in one direction, to wait PATIENTLY for the valid PB to opposite side of the bands..
* if it's looking to reverse, making sure not jumping the gun too quickly and prematurely when going against the trend use more PATIENCE for more development..
* if its pulling back or just stalling and forming sideways, then to PATIENTLY wait for it to actually build the sideways bands form as then to pick our spot with 60 stoch and overbought/oversold band agreement.

just some words while we are patiently waiting for more action and NYSE open.

yes you are quite right 60 min was the starting point it seems, thanks for the input .It really does make a difference to your trading style ... I just could not make it work for me....here's hoping things may change. THX bill.
