As a grid trader I want to comment on this.

Your system is too simple and will fail. As others have commented, any black swan would wipe you out in a flash.

The fact that your grid is fixed means that your strategy is dumb.

The key to making money with "martinggale" is incorporating intelligence into your robot. For example your grid should resize itself on the fly, you can use a variety of indicators to dictate grid size.

You need to use round trip hedging with martingale if the trade goes against you, for example you have 1 basket of trades, then a central basket of hedges plus a secondry head to counter a market reversal against the hedge.

Entry needs to be based on market conditions, some days woodies CCI works other days HAMA or elliot can give better entries. The way I work is to combine all the popular indicators and only enter when all are in agreement.

There is a thing which i want somebody to change from this indicator, that is the lines which this indicator draw is in a horizontal zigzag pattern...^^^^^^^(like that)... but i wont that to be changed so that those lines change to straight non zigzag lines _______

you start to pyramid when you're already in profit with init position, if you keep your summed position positive or within risk limit and quit if it turns on you, nothing can catch up to you. just like with a single trade, you limit your risk.

You then go out find 5 people to give you money. Then go back to the other 3 and give them money back with profit. They in turn get greedy and give you the money back plus more.

Next the pyramid keeps getting bigger and things are just super duper... until one day the pyramid flips on itself and you can't find no more people with money to put in.

You can call it ponzi - pyramid - amway - MLM marketing - etc. It's all the same thing.... a triangle.

lol, dude i know! but what you are saying is like describing a tick as a mental glitch resulting in unwanted and unintended verbal and / or physical outbursts.... it's not incorrect, it's just out of context. in the context of trading pyramiding is building size onto open positions that are in profit (and martingaling is really just an inverse pyramid).

the thing is, it's called pyramiding because it IS just like a pyramid... same as a ponzi. a pyramid is just blocks being supported by more blocks underneath. a pyramided position is just a new position whose risk is negated by the negative risk of open positions. a ponzi/pyramid scheme is just people being fed money from more people beneath them recursively.

are you just taking the piss or am i having a conversation with myself without knowing it? either way i don't care because i'm going to go play some more duke nukem. i'm all outta gum!

I traded SWB (martingale counter trend system) for many months and it was very successful. It's a stressful way of trading because anybody using it has to accept that a Black Swan event, or, shock news item, can empty a trading account fairly quickly. IT DID!!

Hey guys,

I went through all the do/dont's of martingale and anti martingale system in this thread. I have last 6months live track history of doing anti martingale on GBP USD (during Euro Crisis was underway) with my bot to good effect I would like to share my fellow pal's live acct which is run by the bot and you can figure out the anti martingale strategy it uses as soon as you get in and dd is ~10 . Nice one with DD under 10, if you had seen my ea running on exness live a/c with gbp usd + anti martingale its also doing good with same DD and very steady. acct up near ~50% in 6months live forward tests. anti martingale looks promising than martingale your ea on eur/usd and mine on gbp/usd.

Hi Darren,

Its not risky and the EA coded is exclusively optimized for GBP USD (It was running for last 6months with looming euro zone crisis).It can make trades both sides based on market movement with awaiting pending orders listed and lets to market conviction to trigger awaiting buy limit or sell limit orders both at 30pip intervals and re-adjust TP of all the open trades suitably to cut positive overall if the higher lot in fray gets 60pips which acts as cover for small losses of other opened orders. Got the profit share withdrawn on that live a/c of pal and letting it start fresh at the moment.

Attached the current live trades explaining the above reasoning for folks who didn't log into the live a/c as in prev. thread yet :
