Directly manipulating your MT4 account is impossible unless you gave someone your password and he would not need to do that through an indicator.

If the indicator references an external DLL, it is possible to do almost anything on the host computer such as deleting files and capturing keystrokes. I'm not sure how he would get your password, unless you switch between accounts. MT4 tries to prevent this by making DLLs a user option. I will not use an indicator with a DLL unless I fully trust the author. Be suspicious of any indicator with a DLL.

Interesting. What about seeing your charts etc? Some of these free indicators on FF have that option. How would the programmer know who is using the indicator? By the way, what does the external DLL do (and DLL means...?).

DLL = Dynamic Link Library. Think of it as a shared library which many programs can access to share common code. MT4 comes with some "include" libraries which can be included in the code of indicators but are not shared. DLLs are written outside of MT4 in programing languages like Basic or C Sharp and are intended to provide functionality that can't be written in MQL4 like sharing data with other programs without using files.

I'm not sure what you mean by seeing your charts. One computer cannot see what another is doing unless the person allows access or your firewall has been breached. Perhaps you could provide a link to one of them and I can better understand what your concern is.

I have posted a number of free indicators on FF and I have no idea who is using them unless they post a thank you. From the view count, I know how many people have downloaded them, but I have no idea who they are or if in fact they are using them after download. As a rule I don't use DLLs in my code and if I did, I would post the appropriate warning.

Thank you for this CodeMeister. Sent you a PM. Some traders had mentioned the concern that if they were to sign up for a contest with a broker, would they be able to see what the trader had on their charts. Is there a way for brokers to do that?

Some indicators won't work without DLL selected so the only choice you have is to not use them or be wary. There is a Forex Calendar indicator that is very popular on this forum. It requires a DLL to download the calendar from this site. It is safe to use because many have been doing that without having any trouble.

I would be wary of any indicator with a DLL unless I understood its workings and had some idea of the author. Also I would never be the first to try it.

if i often switch between accounts, does it dangerous and somebody can know my password? need explanation. because yesterday my friend's MT4 account was hacked and somebody trade the account. my friend have several account in 3 companies. waiting for your explanation. thanks

No doubt your friend was careless and someone took advantage. Did he lose any money?

Ex. If you place a BUY and its not making a profit. Hacking to it and change it to a SELL order?

Now that would be the Holy Grail of hacking if possible.

Even if possible, I am sure that brokers would have an audit trail to catch you.

why in earth you want change a single trade after hacking into brokers , isn't it easy to add few 0's to your balance than manipulating trade ?
