I did a scanner for many currencies, but I'll improve it a bit too. I'll do 2 columns so it will allow twice more currency pairs and I'll add some parameters to choose the pairs, MA type and so on.

And for that one it is better to put it on a 1M chart for the refresh. For the previous one it is ok and will refresh every minute on any chart.

I upload it too in case if somebody can do something nice from it.

Why would I take offence? I have seen about 98.5% of all the webinars and was very suprised to see him trade such a small time frame. Even in most webinars he does not trade this small.

Now, when a person says that indicators don't work. Someboody always points out that what that person is really saying is that they can not make indicators work...............

P.s. You asked some time ago in another thread about a better platform for using market profile, my opinion is investor RT is the one, I used ensign too but I found this one a better option for me at this time...

I was looking at Disney too, but be careful the stock is much weaker then the index. A better alternative is to buy a bull call spread which I'm looking into it...

I am the wrong person to ask about this. Maybe Malc will be able to help you with this one.

This is one of the issues I have with multiple time frame trading. I will assume you are correct about the trends on the higher time frames. From my perspective if you are going to use multiple time frames then you would not want to trade against them. Otherwise, what is the point in knowing what the trend is? Now, Gavin would say that ON the time frame the trade was taken, he was trading with the trend. But again, Malc should be able to help you with this.

hey if you can trade from those small timeframes then good luck to you , sometimes you can take small timeframe charts and it acts perfectly with the principles we follow however other times its just crazy!

Another problem with small timeframes is can you actually get a stop in place and order confrimed before the move?

on another note....are you just trading the micro timeframes now?

I watched some of the first vid and looked at the chart on different timeframes. It sounds to me like your trying to catch tops and bottoms. If your looking at that chart that gavin was looking at, its clear that the day has been an uptrend, price is moving from bottom left to top right of the screen. The hourly is also up, even though there is alot of volume on upbars, none of it is confirmed as selling as there are hardly any down bars after the upbars.

Another thing to remember is each time frame is a fractal of another time frame. So if the 4hr has suddenly shown possible weakness and it is in an uptrend, it doesnt mean suddenly to look for shorts on the 15 mins - there is a strong possibility there is plenty more up room on a 15 min chart as SM will need to test and probe upwards again for confirmation of weakness which was seen on the 4hr bar, which on a 15 minute time frame might be a valid long setup.

I hope this makes sense, its not gospel as Im learning too but its the way I look at it.

I'm just offering my opinion, but I am quite passionate about the less than 5M charts. In fact, the 2M is fantastic and has way less noise for picking those 30/40 pip (or less) swings which can often lead to the ideal entry as a longer term range/direction builds.

My personal preference is for 4 minute charts - they are far better than a 5M because SM and algos will make their moves at the close (ie., last 1 minute) of those M5 bars being built (include M15 in this category too - a very important timeframe for determing intent - M12 can be handy here I have found). The 4M nicely catches and separates the bar range that is printed with the associated volume. To validate what I am seeing in VSA, I often switch to a 3M as well, to confirm. (And I know I am covering the gamut here, but 10M can be very helpful as well)

MT4 of course does not have 4M/3M/2M; I have seen some attempts at creating them and tried them, but I do not get the feeling they are parsing volume properly; I use NinjaTrader. If you try them with an open mind, you may be surprised.

Just becoming concerned that this VSA thread which is supposed to be a VSA learning tool is becoming too bogged down with other items (EA's, Wyckoff, P&F etc...). Perhaps Wyckoff and P&F are great add ons to VSA (don't know much about either) but newcomers to VSA are just going to spin in circles not knowing what the hell to do.

Yes and I'm thinking it could be a good tool for accurate profit target. Some people said it was amazing how accurate it was. But, ok, I won't talk about it and EA anymore.

Tom has always advocated using Point and Figure charts. It has not been talked about because TG software doesn't have the capabilities. We can easily make an argument for not using candles because VSA does not look at the open.

But don't get me started on EAs LOL.

using option allowed indeed to be protected against shakeout for example, however, the longer you get a protection the larger the premium... not a big fan of option for short term directional trading ( maybe I'm wrong)

On the stock itself , do you also see that there is some accumulation ? Or the fact that the stock perform less than the index makes it a dog for you ?

No need to be careful as I was just expressing my concern and my opinion. Candle Chart, bar chart it's all the same to me as one can simply ignore the open mark on the candle chart. I have traded and still do with both. As for P&F MT4 indicators suck terribly and TG doesn't offer them... I wasn't telling anybody to use or not use Wyckoff or P&F. My concern lied with any newcomers looking to learn VSA will become even more overwhelmed than they need to sifting through all of the other possible methods to use with VSA (VSA is overwhelming enough at first).

Anyway it's all fine and good as I think I am up for a long overdue break from FF anyway. Best of luck to everyone and many green pips to all of you.

I can understand needing a break, you will be missed.

My point is this: The only reason P&F charting is not discussed from day one of VSA is that Ultimately Gavin is a salesman. It doesn't make much sense to tout the benefits of a trading method that the software you are selling can't do. From Tom's point of view, they go hand in hand. But If you were going to hawk software that cost 5,000.00 dollars, you would not say, "buy this but its not enough".

ive posted a chart of the current EU 1h chart..i placed arrows(that correspond with the vol) and labeled them..(stole this idea from belikewater!) below are my answers...any response from the grooup is much appreciated...best regards, john

A) im gonna say upthrust..(.im finding different definitions for the volume on upthrust, some say low , others high, not sure)

B) "test"...i believe a test is normally a downward bar but what i think is SM is testing to see if theres any demand here before they sink it..

C) Bottom Reversal...the spread really isnt that wide but its the only defination i could find discribing this action

D) Test,Failed..volume to high

E) Shakeout..

F) have no idea

which way will the market go? because i dont know what F is im not sure and i since i dont know then at this point i would just wait !!!


anybody that would like to correct my errors is more than welcome too..i would appreciate it...best regards, john

Please don`t leave for long. IMHO you are one of the best educators in this thread, and your no-nonsense approach with vsa / triggers - and keeping everything as simple and straightforward as possible - has helped me immensely.

I am still in a non-trading project but hope to post some " pres78 - inspired " charts soon.

( Of course thxs to HG, Malc., Intel, Beljavina, Sono.... too. )
