Does anyone now a spread betting broker who uses metatrader?

I dont think it exists. Even ODL who just started offering spreadbetting is using a web based platform for its spreadbetting products but has Metatrader for its spot FX.

thanks, im currently using GFT's dealbook for spread betting which is quite good, but i want to be able to manage a couple of friends accounts and metatrader has an account copier script, plus other features.

FXCM uses spread betting, anyone signed up with them?

I've tried them but don't like them. I've always traded with IG but thought I would give FXCM a go because their spreads are often tighter - but in reality they always seem move the market further - killing the advantage of 'tighter' spreads.

I trade with an average of 15 point stop loss - most times I get hit, I want to get hit because the market is reversing, but with FXCM I found I had to increase this to 16 or 17 to avoid getting stopped out whilst remaining in with IG.

If you look at IG's daily high / low prices, FXCM's will nearly always be 1 or 2 points higher / lower. So their 'tighter' spreads are nullified by their more 'fluid' prices.

I have been using smartlivemarkets .co.uk since September 2010. They offer wide range of instruments and stocks on full mt4 functionality. Thus far their service has been very good and they are FSA registered. I do hope as they grow larger over time their service stays the same.

i keep getting slipped through my stop on SLM so beware - a lot of others are too.

youll get the usual shit "its normal" "its interbank" etc

nonsense. thats my stop thats where the trade closes thankyou very much.

"the way it works" bollocks is wearing thin....

Thanks for the warning, I keep that in mind. However, I use them for indicies, cfds, gold and silver. For forex I use ibfx, fxdd and gain. mind you in this business as Stevehopwood says they are all criminals. The worst broker for slippages was fxcm (was since I let them very quickly).

Once you start making money, they switch you to what they call their interbank feed. That adversely affects your profitability with slippage and bad fills.

So why is it so difficult to find a decent company that offers MetaTrader as an option, I seem to be using MT4 more and more for chart analysis then hopping into IG Index to make the trade. Why doesn't a company like IG Index offer MetaTrader?

This afternoon (Friday, May 20) at 17:55 hrs UK I lost connection with the SmartLiveMarkets servers. I called them thinking it maybe a problem on my PC and was told their systems had crashed. Their web site also went down. I asked if senior management was aware of this catastrophe and was told they had gone home.

Fortunately, this occurred when hopefully most clients would have already closed their positions and, of course, it was still possible to close positions by phone. As I write this 45 minutes later their systems are still down, which is surely indicative of a lack of redundancy in their systems.

I shall be closing my account, which is a shame because this is the only spread betting company I've found that offers the MT4 platform.

For metatrader better you request from your broker multi terminal more effective in managing many accounts.
