How are you, did you get my mail? The TrendAndFlat keeps crashing my MT4 everytime I loaded it on. I do not know if you can know why it is acting like that.

Yes I got your email and sent you another version, didn't you get it?
I don't understand what the problem is as neither version causes any problems for me, try compiling it first.
I've attached a ranging market setup, as you can see we would have got a few false signals but mainly we were kept out as not all signals were met.

Sorry I did not get the other version you sent. Did you use the correct email?

The ranging chart you provided looks very good, even though with a few false signals one still comes out a winner. The TrendAndFlat is a great indi. I have a Digital version of the BB MACD (it is believed to produce better signals than the regular one).

maxwell and Forex1962, would you be so kind to post your indicators? I trade using renko and would like to take a look. I have a BB MACD maxwell, but I think it's the original version and would like to see the difference in the digital one.

Hey p.w.w -- hope you are doing well. Am trying to set up to backtest, and have run the procedure in the "Off-Line Charts FAQ" pdf file. Am quite sure that I am running the procedure correctly. I end up with a 1m chart that is populated with EURUSD data, and no data on the other timeframes. And no connection. This is as it should be. I then load the Renko EA on the one minute chart, setting 5pip bricks and 5m as the generation chart timeframe. I then try and load a 5m offline chart so that I can load the indis and my EA, but there is no 5m offline chart generated. Only offline chart is a 1m chart. Any ideas here? Have spent a lot of time on this.

I like this idea. I have added a couple of simple s/r type indies that work well for me and am going to give this a good trial. Feel free to try it too. This should augment my regular charts and help to see where the moves SHOULD occur based on fibs...

I still don't believe there is any perfect signal, just take everything in and see the big picture.

PS I used the RenkoLiveChart 3.0 indicator set to Box Size 10...

Hello. Question for you.. Does the Chaos ArrZZx2 indicator repaint? The Semafor indicator that you have in the zip file is notorious for repainting. I know some people love it, but in my opinion it is useless because you do not know the true state of a starburst until it gets done repainting, and by then the damage has been done. Just my opiniion.
As i said, there is no magic trade signal. These do repaint.

Semaphore is based on ZigZag and paints according to the settings you use. This is set to 36, 60, and 156. The purpose is to ALERT you to look for something, not to make a trade. If price rallies/falls past the star, yes it will repaint to show the next point for the ZigZag.

AARZZ can also repaint but less often. This is to give you a S/R level for your trade. It is set to 60. So when you see the big star and the corresponding AARZZ indicator formed together, you can have a better degree of confidence in your trade using the HAS and the HA. Set your stops above/below the AARZZ level

.Look at my last picture, when price rallied back to the AARZZ line and formed a small circle, that was a fantastic setup. Short at the line, stop 10 pips above and use the HA or HAS to manage the trade. If yyou have balls, stay short until the next star or AARZZ line .

Remember, these are only suggestions, you don't have to use them.

I am building bricks using RenkoLiveChart_v3.0 (the indi). It builds the offline chart ok, but I get a recurring error in the experts/log file that says "error: D11 calls must be allowed". The log file gets big and starts slowing things down. Anybody know what this means?? Going to try the EA and see what happens.

Ctrl-I -> 'Expert Advisors' tab -> Check 'Allow Dll Imports'

Folks

The reliability of Renko charts is highlu quesitonable. You can have exiciting good results in test and the moment you put renko on live test you see the reults are not what you tested on Renko. They are even more drastic. The reason is the time (even in milisconds) taken by Renko scripts to create a bar and most importantly the last bar whose price is floating all times till the time the Renko movement is to a level when the new bar to be created. Try backtest on any universal moving average EA and then put this on test in a Live-Demo account and see the results.
