well, i wouldnt have taken it....cos there is no substantial increase in volume for me to even think of any trade...compare this volume with volume on normal days and u will see what i am saying...it might end up in profit but i wouldnt have taken it....

i always look for obvious trades...i have 6-7 strategies for various timeframes....so, even if i managed to take all the trades which literally jump at me, i would have made huge number of pips at the end of the mnth....

yep trading is a very tiring and lonely job...and the more u look at charts, the more u tend to see things that dont exist....so we need to see charts only when it is necessary and we also need to have good forms of relaxation which would prevent us from taking unwanted trades....this one works for me....:-)....

another beauty of this method....u can locate similar trades even on the daily....can someone post a daily chart?

no problem... rally looks like it's run out of steam, very low volume, possible short?

Careful as the last 3 days can be very decieving... profit taking upper wick on Thursday before long weekend, low liquity Friday with most on holidays and another low liquity day today with most again on Holidays.
Today's zone = Tomorrow's opportunity!

thanks for the chart...i wouldnt worry abt the low volume for now....last few days have had holidays and so there is bound to be low volume...

but the 3 dates of interest here are the dates around 30 Nov 2010, 28 Dec 2010 and around 15 Mar 2011...

Around 30 Nov 2010, you see sudden decrease in price with gradual increase in volume with price approaching suppoprt and a pin bar to boot....all bullish signs and u had a 300 pip upmove...

around 28 dec, price falling on huge decreasing volume...signs of reversal....and u had a huge upmove which is still not ended...even after 1000 pips...

around 15 mar 2011, sudden fall in price with gradual increase in volume...price dropping into support...pin bars to boot....bullish reversal which resulted in 600 pip upmove which is still going strong...

this is what i get for trading beyond the permissible time...my trade is - 40 pips now but i will hold on to it as the trend is up...will rethink if 1.64 is broken...

It appears you are just caught in a corrective move and I agree trend is up. But a day like today is not good, I just got out myself. It is too slow since last Friday.

I also wanted to say good job on this thread as I used it to my benefit thus far. The "other" VSA thread is very detailed, but your thread is to the point. Your attitude is also a plus compared to the big head of the other thread starter, which is a welcome. (I can't believe the attitude "the authority of VSA" gave you). Good Luck to you.

hey thanks for ur message....i greatly appreciate ur fair and frank comments...one of the reasons why i started this as a separate thread rather than share my ideas on the other thread was cos of the attitude of some people there....they act as if they own VSA and they act as if they are the only authority on it...

no one owns owns VSA...VSA is just a concept...anyone can interpret it the way they want it....and there is no one way of doing it...just as u can interpret RSI, MA etc the way u want to, u can also interpret volume and VSA the way u want to...

thats what i hate abt the other thread...it also suffers from the usual disease of explaining everything after the fact....it is very easy to explain the same situation both in the bearish manner or the bullish manner....so many members there talk abt how they entered right at the top or right at the bottom based on NS ND on M5 , after the fact....which is so easy to do....

anyway, not casting aspersions on anyone...just sharing my thoughts...
