I was out arranging stuff at church. Mrs V got this one, entry 6263. 1hr positive close after a doji, 15 min engulfing close. Nice hl little/no upper wick move up from 50 psych level/D pivot (purple dash).

We did not get this one just showing because its pretty straight forward.

1hr pos close above the immediate range. Pulls back to the SR level, POC (brown line)/25 psych level combo. 15 min pos close. 5 min hl.

Nice trades as usual Vantage. I completely missed the GU move and wasn't watching EU this am. I did consider this 1 hr hammer rejection of pivot and 50% of yesterday's move. 15 min pos close and 5 min hl. I left as I wasn't completely happy with the upper wick on the 5 min. Also entry would have been 6292 and would have been trading into 1.63/MR1/POC combo.

Turned into a perfect 85/15 trade. could have made 20 on it as it turns out. Anyway I'm concentrating on leaving the iffy trades. If I can be successful at that my trading will turn around!

Hi Dave

Thanks for posting all three charts (1h, 15min, and 5min) in one post (as I requested earlier on this thread). Beautiful - now I can see the picture(s) and visualise the reasons for entering. Like I said - a picture is worth more than a thousand words for me.

Still following your thread and trying your system every now and then (when I do have the time to look at the screen) but hopefully I would be more active with my trading after May 2011 when I am finishing THIS other thing of mine. Then I'll study your thread from page 1. Because I am still not familiar with all the terms and abbreviations used on this thread. But I'll get there.

In the mean time, I do study each chart your posted in detail because I really like this approach of yours.

Quite well, thanks. Still doing the trading grind but I've been working on a lot of research and development stuff lately that has kept me away from posting (not that I was ever prolific, anyways). Good to see that not much has changed here as yours was always a very solid approach. I'll post a chart or two if I have some good HL/LH trades, though a lot of my trading right now is focused on levels around FO/LO using M1/M5 so they might be sporadic.

If you're not comfortable leave it.

One thing I'll add, if you have a move above the immediate range and a pullback into/to top of prev range and then hl sets up right ie 1hr pos, good 15 min candle, that's normally a good set up.

Cheers, and yes I have to admit when I do post all 3 charts it does make more sense for others and then of course in future when people look and don't have to go back for ages in their own charts to see what candles looked like.

An alternative to the trouble of posting three separate charts could be to use something like Stratman's Mini-chart indi on a separate template, specifically for your examples. Could be kind of a nuisance marking up, saving, and posting three charts every time but this could be a good compromise.

I'm pretty sure you've already used the indi in the past, but I'll post it just in case or if anyone else wants to give it a try.

1hr up, 15 min up, 5 min hl little/no upper wick. Entry 6473 I was aware of the psych level etc that was ahead of me. Got to +11 or so then a doji and a neg close, then back to +11. With 15 min and 5 min sell divergence put stop to BE which got taken out.

It also means that I missed a potential 2b sell but thems the breaks. Whilst I wanted to protect myself against a downside move I'm so far not too interested in selling into this $ weakness.

Agreed. Just look at those H1 and H4 mini-charts. Hard to try and counter that right now. Plus with it being a heavy news day relative to the rest of the week, I would guess that IF sellers want to come in they will be waiting until after those releases. TWT, as a wise man once said.

My stop would have held but I stuck to my BE rules but darn it thems the rules.

Mrs V is in bed I think the events of last week caught up with her. I was making the tea and toast (me apricot jam Mrs V peanut butter, why I write this stuff goodness only knows) and missed the next hl move up. It was against a 15 min neg close and don't know if I would have taken it. If you are going to break/stretch things do it with the trend.
