The following should work:

1. Press Ctrl-O in MT4, go to the Events tab, double click to set the red X ON so that MT4's alerts sound is disabled.

2. Copy all of your relevant .wav files into ...../(MT4)/sounds

3. Change the code to include something like:
PlaySound("GbpUsdSell.wav");
depending on the pair and the signal (buy/sell).

If you also want the Alert window to pop up, include
Alert("whatever message");
also.

I just tried that here now, and...
lol I still get that man.....what im trying to do is have a extern int so that when i attach the indicator to a chart i can pick the .wav file to play for each different arrow or dot....if i did it the way you are talking about i would have to make an indicator for each pair. i think it would just be easier and faster to have a wonder nice person that can code....add the code so you can pick the .wav's you want for each arrow when you load it on your charts. I have a candle timer indicator that lets me pick the .wav file when i load it on the chart...so thats what i have been trying to get done to this indicator.

Maybe its called an extern bool IDK....i thought it would be extern int.....

If you want i will add the candle timer indicator i have so you can see what i am talking about when you load it on the chart and im sure you have a decompiler....which looks crap but it might help also..so you can see what i am talking about. I dont have the mq4 file only the ex4...have looked for the mq4 but no luck in finding it...which sucks cause thats how i learn to add things to indicators...well easy things lol

Here is a solution. If you wanna add sounds for other symbols, add elements to the 'SymbolSoundTable' located in the "GetSoundFile" function.

Thanks bizweb....its close but not what i was talking about...im sure since the one indicator has what i want it is possibe for this one also...Im trying to make it so that you do not have to add the .wav files to the code but can just type it in the box when you add it to the indicators.
I added a pic of what the candle timer does when you load it on to a chart and you can just type the .wav file there and it will be used for when it should sound off and have a pop up

Filenames are string data types, they can't be int or bool.

Anyway, attached is my best shot, given the time that I have available. I don't have time to try to figure out what the indy is doing (the comments are in Russian, LOL); I've simply made some (hopefully educated) assumptions about the code that calls the alarms.

Install the SoundMaster.csv file in the ...../(MT4)/experts/files folder.

The benefits of having this file are: (1) you only need one version of the indy, and (2) there's no limit to the number of pairs, scenarios (i.e. arrow/dot types), and .wav files that you can have. You can copy and add more lines to the end of the file, as you need to. After copying the lines, leave the semi-colons where they are; just type over the top of the existing text.

Make sure that you have the wave filename spelled correctly, with the .wav extension, and that the .wav file itself it is installed in ...../(MT4)/sounds. If you don't want a wave file to sound, you can leave the area between the semi-colons blank.

You can also customize the alert message text. If you leave this blank, then this will disable the visual alert from popping up (i.e. if you want a .wav audio alert only).

You can add more scenarios that match different arrow types (if you can decipher the Russian, LOL). Just copy what I've done and it should work. The scenario name in the code needs to exactly match the scenario in the SoundMaster.csv file.

The bottom line is that if the indy now finds a pair and scenario combo in the SoundMaster.csv file that matches the pair and scenario on any chart to which the indy is attached, then the correct .wav file will play, and the visual alert will (optionally) pop up.

Finally, don't forget to disable the Alert chime (press Ctrl-O etc) as I described in an earlier post.

Its not too serious .....i just think it would be nice...i have seen a code some where or in some indicators code to do it but i can not remember which one...it didnt look that hard and the code was every easy..Thanks though

Give a look to the one attached. I guess it is what you are looking for. Just get the right sound files in the params.
