Because I want to trade the London and New York markets it has to be somewhere in europe or africa for me.

Problem with Africa would be internet connection speeds and visas so rule that one out..

For me? I would say a place in Southern France would work perfect. Nicer weather than the UK and the right timezones. Only problem I can see is that it is full of French people..

Thinking about it, I am happy in London! Well... until I can afford to trade off of my yacht in Monaco

Has the financial crisis in Spain not hit that area? How would a failure in the US dollar affect these parts? Note sure if you knew but I figured I would give it a try.
Ignored
I believe its impact is similar to other places in Europe. Everyone talks about the crisis but this year turism (the main economic driver here) has been rising again. I can't say if it's worst than before because i've been here for 4 months, but overall seems a great place to live.

I would say Asia. You can capture three markets.

Asian market in the morning if you don't feel like sleeping in

European market in the afternoon AND

NA market in the evening.

If you want fast Internet connection, Korea is a good place to go. I heard that the government is developing super-fast internet there that can reach the speed of 100 Gbps/second to be available for 2013!

Sure the best place to trade is from Indonesia,

you will have the most beautiful place in the world to live..

you could enjoy the day and still able to trade..
you will have sun all years in this country..
at morning (Asia session) you may just wake up, go around, fishing, diving, snorkeling, sun bathing, visit the temple, see the awesome of rice field, waterfall, green mountain, watching thousands culture and language, foods, everything that you want you could get in here...
after tired, you may go home at 3 pm (london open) and want to trade at beautiful place while watching sunset at the horizon..
before diner at 7 (us open) you may consider to let your trade running or not...after finished your diner, watching trade in profit and TP would be so complete wonderful day...
go sleep and there is still tomorrow to enjoy this life...

what are you waiting? go to my beautiful country right Now...

A country that has no income taxes and little debt however, already knows how to survive...without having to take it from the "well off" forex traders, who ruined the World Economy through their reckless speculations

I am from Nigeria, but a couple of my friends have migrated to Ghana and testified to its being very very 'trader' friendly. It's on the same zone as London with a good YES to all your enquiries

I went to Dubai 2 years and thought it was awful. Probably the last place on the planet I'd want to trade from, except most African countries of course. There were trafficjams everywhere.

I think Indonesia, Malaysia or Thailand (not Phuket though) would be my choice.
He was looking for the card so high and wild hed never need to deal another

For the Korean fast connection, I have two errors to correct in my original post: It will reach download speed of 1 Gbps/sec NOT 100 Gbps/sec and that's by 2012 NOT 2013! 1 Gbps/sec is still the fastest download speed by far.

My source is this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/22/te...oadband22.html

Enjoy! Korean, anyone?

Also, keep in mind, it's not just the raw download speed that counts, but the ping time from your location to your broker's server. Actually, if you monitor your traffic you might find out that upload and ping times/quality are far more important.

You guys should be, regularly, testing your speeds especially if your ISP is prone to throttling.

Hey Jess - Sorry for the delay. The are a few programs to auto, and/or manually, test connection speed/quality, but the one I'm using is at http://dl.broadbandhelper.co.uk/JDSpeedTester/Web/ It's an ingenious little program. And best of all, it's free.

Side note: I find it fascinating how the connections (cable hardware) are made and laid.

And some modern day event(s) tie-in:

Here's a theory I have. Check the below image (source: http://www.telegeography.com/product-info/map_cable/ ) Now, notice the internet/communication cable landing sites in the middle east and keep in mind the major "revolution" hot-spots today. Ever wonder why Israel is so protected, other than the obvious, by the US? Libia; come-on the cable was just laid. How about Tunsia? Yemen. Iraq; we didn't bomb till they invaded Kuwait... check the hub in Kuwait. I could go on and on. Why these places? And why now? Sure oil is a major factor, but perhaps there's something else going on here. Correlation or coincidence?

Lay the cable (real trojan horse), and "they" will come.

Very interesting point. And oil they can buy. US can print enough money to buy oil. Maybe they want there something else, that they can't buy?
