Well, I do already more than 5 years programming with trading systems.

you're facing that migth couse problems if not adressed properly. Very clear as well this options 0/1 to me..

I would not in general recommend having WriteToFile enabled: as it might
additionally slow down the chart: especially if you have also the next option enabled and many bars..

Don't worry: I still have the fastest retail processor out there! Heavely stuffed with superfast RAM as well! I didnt do much scanning in the past but when I build my system I knew this could well change in future so I invested heavely in speed! I also run other charting software with datafeed from my brooker so I wont get surprised by anything..

I do not have the best programming style so I have experience at times problems with MT4 stuff.

For me WriteToFile is a nice extra feature for manual kind of back-checking theoretical past events.

Sounds good as well! I'm not quite sure if I'm understanding all technicals behind here as this writing to files is quite new sbject to me but it would be of great vulue to watch all recorded signals!

Maybe I made it too complicated: WriteToFile is quite simple that it writes the alert stuff additionally to a file. Nothing special - but quite useful.

As mentioned it can be used to write also live Alerts to file.

No problem to leave it for each one: the only thing is it will be a long list of input stuff - which maybe nobody ever bothers.

Is it ever the case you use on your MTF let's say for
M5 the PriceField: 1=close/close"
and for H1 the PriceField: 0=high/low"

same question applies to MAMethods

As far as the moving averages go...the only ones I use are the simple and exponential moving averages applied to the close and thats it so any other options for me would be unnecessary and as far as the stochastics...I use everything on default aside for the actual stoch settings of 14,3,3

P.S. I do refer to the daily and the weekly stochastics to gauge the overall market sentiment and long term trend

Yes that would be very nice but I thought with the alerter you made already I would be able to set any of the time frames even going up to the monthly...

Yes that was possible with the older one: but I do it now a bit different.

What are we going to do about the Close candle / Live candle situation.

1. make it optional on each individual stoch

2. make it optional for per set of MTF stochs (set is M1-Monthly)
and we have tow sets

3. make it with one option for all Stochs

I never deal with live candles only candle closes unless I'm cutting in by a couple minutes or what not...so for me to leave the option open is just going to use up unnecessary ram...unless im mistaken but it still seems unnecessary to have the option to have open or close... but I do like the idea of having two sets within one alert...or the option to set two groups optionally with whatever time frames set by user...

an oversold and overbought alert for each seperate one would be good but I would prefer not to filter out the levels of the alerts for the stochs as I would like to be alerted whenever they line up wherever it happens as so I can appropriately assess the situation..because I do look at the entire situation before entering any single trade...

This settings which 'despichtt' suggested and I find also useful still allows you to do what you want.

Think about it:

e.g. Stoch1
Long_Minimum =0;
Long_Maximum =100;
Short_Minimum =0;
Short_Maximum =100;

This gives you the whole spectrum.

So everyone is happy and can do what they think is best to do


To clarify: you would find it helpful if each stoch can also be set to alert when it crosses the overbought, or oversold area.

with different settings something like this:


M5 stoch oversold=20, overbought=80
M15 stoch oversold=15, overbought=85
M30 stoch oversold=20, overbought=80
H1 stoch oversold=23.6, overbought=76.4

You are right and that would work so everyone is happy and your clarification is correct that is just what I mean...that would do it perfectly...

Generalise for the set looks fine to me..

I look to the dayly only but the rest don't realy bother me. If its not to much of a problem: implement all..

I'm anyway not sure if it will work out with MT4.

I just started with some general layouts of input parameters will have to wait for tomorrow or day after to know more.

But to explain the SET idea I had.

I did not finally think it through: but I guess having two sets gives a number of advantages. (if MT4 supports it)

1. obviously more option to work with

2. aside of that one could set different default settings: and easily switch between the two sets with something like that: enable set1 - disable set2 or opposition

3. it makes some of the action to perform more easily understand and selectable by grouping it together.

E.g something like that: check on Set1 Direction

and check on set2 Stochs in order from Lowest TimeFrame to highest.



May current idea would be to have two sets of Stochs with all possible TimeFrames:

SET2 M1 to Monthly


Plus 3 extra stochs not included in any sets for other functionalities.

Well, only partially as by name definition we have only a between area. There are a couple of ways to change that: rename it to something more neutral. and have an option to check outside such boundaries.

Or to add additional parameters: no problem about that but I had just wondered if you guys really use different ones.

Because if I look at the picture above: if you overlay one indi window with multiple stochs M4-H4 you normally set only 1 overbought oversold Level line.

I personally on the other hand use in many cases really more: like 85/15 and 23.6 76.3


Anyway: I guess I will know tomorrow a bit more if we can include so much stuff .

You got the picture very clear! I think this is the only way to be able to make alert for both up and down signal in 1 Alerter if you want to implement conditions for comparisons.

I know understand very clearly what you mean with sets! Is it also possible to compare indiviadual lines within 1 Set; like: 1min > 5min to put it simple?

Would be great for some Elastic figures; signaling etc..!

Scenario: (14,3,3) is above (100,3,3) and yet Fastest line(6,1,1) is below (100,3,3) for nice scalping!!
