I've never traded properly, i.e with lots so i'm not sure of the differences. I have no concept of the money you're talking but as i'm sure you're aware you can trade up to £2200 per pip on Cable and Eddie. Is it the margin factors that are effecting you?

Not sure if everyone using MT4 is aware of this - I think it came along in one of the recent releases/updates that are pushed to you. I was not aware that you can pan and stretch only those specific sections of a chart that you are interested in. This is something higher end charting packages have usually offerred.

To turn it on for your desired chart, F8 (or right-click, & choose properties) and from the "Common" tab, turn on "Scale Fix". You can then still adjust your scale on the right-hand y-axis by pressing your left mouse buttom, BUT you should now also have the ability to 'grab' your chart with your left mouse button and move the chart around, and still adjust the scale!

You will find this particularly handy with wild swing moves like UJ gave us last week and that 70 pip M15 bar in EU this NY morning, where your chart gets 'squished' due to WRBs.

It can really help for zooming in on current price action, keeping trendlines and all other chart indicators much more evident and visible IMO. Hope it helps someone.

Thanks for the information. Actually, I once browsed ibfx web site and found a few useful mt4 tips, such as custom fibo level and show the prices, very interesting...

It is amazing. EU PA has been going up on EVERY TF on decreasing volume from 1.3860. Where is it going? Not far I guess....

VSA aside, the USD's not doing so hot, but mostly EU's up due to no less than 3 eurocrats blabbing away how the April 7 rate hike will occur - looks like buyers just stepping overthemselves - 50 pips over 2 hours of NY lunch is something else. But, with the rate hike to a good deal priced in, and Portugal looming among others, it will do doubt be interesting. Nov's 1.4283 next I guess.

Until then, buy the lows - there was a wonderful one this morning, and I of course wasn't ready ...

If all of the retail traders keep selling into a rising market it may just keep on going. 4280-4300 should provide some tough resistance that will make the bulls decide if they want to put in some effort or give way and let it drop.

It went up because Pres got stopped out at least thats how it feels sometimes.

Ah yes to have the power to push the market up 50 pips with a single SL taken out... It was a bad trade all in all so getting out at BE was a cheap lesson to not chase after a trade.

Just a heads up for anyone who is interested - a friend pointed this out to me.

Livecharts from Esignal is a web based charting package with the same datafeed as the full Esignal desktop package. It costs $25 a month, and either $10 p.m. for delayed forex data, or $50 p.m. for real time.

A lot cheaper than the full package and at $35 p.m. for slightly delayed forex data I think its a great tool for newbies to VSA, using decent data.

Is anyone already using it?

Leverage is used to calculate the margin factor. In SBing, it is usally about 1-5%. For you I think its 140 x bet amount(for EU). That means for every £1 you want to bet, you have to have £140 as margin on the trade. So if you have £160 in your account, you can bet £1 per pip, leaving you £20 to lose before they will close your bet. So if you had an account of £21000 and you wanted to risk 10% (£2100) with a SL of 15 pips(£2100/15=£140 per pip) you would need £140 x 140(your marginrequirement) = £19600 as margin. This would leave you only £500 to trade with which is not enough because your SL is £2100 away. You cannot risk 10% of your account with a 140:1 margin factor.

In spot forex trading, the leverage can be much higher depending on your broker. I have negotiated 400:1 (0.25%)on my account which means that I can put much more of my account at risk than you can. In our little example, I could risk 10% of the account and would only require £6650 in margin, leaving me loads of room to trade.

Maybe I wasnt clear. I have had that leverage on my forex account for over 12 months. But I cannot find any SBing broker that will match it. Thats why it may not be financially viable to move to SBing. If like many other traders you are happy risking 2-3% per trade then SB is ok.....unless of course you want to have 3 trades running at the same time, then you're in trouble(3+3+3=9%).
