Steve has said in the past that a version system is a nightmare for him, so as macman suggests create your own version system. I personally append the thread post number to the version so I can always find out where it came from.
I also use WinMerge....But this is one of the best idea's I've heard yet, since you will always get an explanation of what was done >>>>>>>>>

Latest updates in post 1.

I remembered that I solved the problem of the current candle going outside the top and bottom lines without moving them, in Beastie.

I have copied this code into both the trading ea's and the indis. This should stop pendings being deleted and not replaced.

Once I know that this is running correctly, I shall be putting TOB on my live account, replacing TOBLT to take advantage of the volatility stuff.

On demo Go Markets Aust at 100:1 3k account (all 22 Pairs 24 hours) I have tested Beastie (CT only), TOB since 1 March & TOBTL since 3 March. Results below. I am most comfortable trading TOB and I am running this on a live account this week with same results as below demo account.
Tpo Left is Beastie, Top right is TOB and bottom left is TOBTL

Great. Early days, but it is looking good for ChaserL's dynamic bar count.

I hope this continues; it would be great to know that dynamic thingies will help us in the future. Successful as this bot is, I don't suppose for a moment that it will be the last one to make us all a few pips.

Steve do you remember which trade numbers TOB trades? I'm trying to refresh my memory on which NB trades TOB trades. If I remember hazily it was only #1 and 2?

Oh crikey. I am fairly sure it is only #1 and #2. I think #4 defeated my best attempts to program it.

Yes. Just #1 and #2. These traded at the extremes and had the Bob magic ingredients of BB, huggies etc.

I am coming over all nostalgic. I hope Bob is able to make use of what we have been getting up to here.

Hi Steve,
Now that you have pretty well established dynamic entry and dynamic barcounts you may want to look back at your first attempt at dynamic barcounts…..It is a bot that ran with no barcount, just a lookback (I had it set at D1 charts at a 14 day count which is ATR) and I’m still running it after 4 and a half months and it is still just as good as gold….I use it as a guage to see how well the other 6th’s indi bots stack up with the same set of pairs…….
IMHO putting it back on a demo might be a good thing…..That was one of your best….The Beast Experimental…..Almost 5 months old and it can still hold it’s own…

Just a thought

Not sure if it matters to much, but the D1 Rsi has a constant value of 0 on all my charts in the last 2 releases of TOBLT

That is a strange one. I have just been to check and it is displaying ok.

It shouldn't have been displaying at all. I have inadvertently released the latest with hedging enabled, so watch out for that folks.

I have not yet solved the problem of the deleted pendings being not being replaced - I have been busily replacing my gbpcad trades this morning. One has finally filled, so it will probably be in dd until July just for revenge.

I want to run some logic by you guys.

 

  1. The high and low of a candle shown on the chart are the highest/lowest Bid prices.
  2. The values returned by High[o] & Low[0] are the highest/lowest Bid prices.
  3. The Ask falls comes to within PipsBufferFromTradeLine points of the bottom magenta line and TOB/TOBTL sends a pending.
  4. The market continues to fall and the Bid crosses the bottom magenta line so:

    1. line is re-drawn.
    2. pending is deleted.
    3. bot looks at the Ask to trigger a new pending buy, but the spread means the Ask is above the trade trigger point, and does not send the trade.

Therefore, decisions to send Buy pendings should be based on the Bid, not the Ask, yet at the other end of the scale, decisions to send Sell pendings should still be based on the Bid.

Does this sound about right?

Being a non coder moran I am probably going to regret opening my mouth, but ... if you are happy that the bot is opening the first pending order correctly, rather than deleting the order when the sixths are redrawn can you not code the existing pending to modify its entry price to the new dashed magenta line, continuing until eventually filled
Seems logical as this is how it would likely be done if trading manually, but don't know if it can be coded

Yes it can. I suppose I didn't think of this myself because the way I have coded it is the way it was always coded, and that was a result of the bot originally sending more than one trade. I have said many times before that coding is a doddle; it is the logic to code that gives me the headache.

I have adopted jcs's suggestion to modify the trade open price instead of deleting it.

I have not made this alteration to TOBTL yet - let's make sure there are no LUC breaches first.

it does sound right. Perhaps just trigger pending Buy order at bottom magenta line value minus spread.

Just watched it change on a GBPAUD pending sell and it works perfectly

The arrow that appears on the chart to show the trade does not move with the modified order, can this be made to move as it is a nice quick on screen ref as to position size etc ?
If not can it be removed altogether so as not to confuse ?

Steve, does the zip version includes this update? Meanwhile, I am running TOB (zipversion) since 28th/02 on a live (250€) account with 0.02 lots on 19 pairs, std settings and made 11.3% so far, ALL winners. Gracias, Mr. Hopwood.
