Hi, The trade you have in the white square is a hedge trade….IMHO you shouldn’t run with hedging on unless you have a need for it and you are watching the charts…..If you are not watching the charts then turn hedging back off and let Recovery handle the problem…..Hedging needs a supervisor and should not be turned on until Recovery has run it’s course….Then If PA is still going wrong and all your indi’s say it will stay that way turn on your hedge and go for profit or BE…..Steve has provided us with a great hedge and it should be used as a last resort only…..

My friend, it amazes me when people are so baffled why Steve is so ABRUPT with them. You are using a free product, you are asking for someone to give their time to you free of charge by diagnosing a problem which is unique to you (been with the thread from start and trading this EA with no problems for the last 5 months). Now when he asks for some basic info to help you you become upset and do not provide it.

Number 1 in the list was your set file. Either you did not know what a set file is or could not be bothered to provide it. Since this thread is for experienced traders (hence the 1 vouch requirement), both are just as bad. Most probably now you are outraged by the response.

I agree. When backtesting during strong trends on various pairs, I have noticed greater profit and quicker trades with hedging off. Slightly more DD with hedging off but not a significant amount.

Hey Steve havent posted in a few days just been horribly sick with the flu over here but finally getting better.

Anyways to the point, I have been using the latest version of TOB with ChaserL setting true. And it has been working good but not as good as when I used The Beast the one coded before closing the thread originally. I have attached it below. I am not sure why even in backtest that original one is showing to me more profitable to me.

I just wanted to let you know I was experiencing that in case it made a difference to you.

I did notice some difference in the coding, such as not ChaserL setting, the criminal overload setting and hedging. I am not a coder and I am slowing trying to teach myself so sorry if I cant go into much detail about it, just hope this helps somehow.

Thanks again for all the hard work you have put into this EA.

Yes. Trades are rare with this bot. You need lots of pairs to generate a decent volume.

Yes, looks like my strategy won't work so good. I was trying a mixture of low, medium, and high volatility pairs (5), at .1 lot, on a $5000 demo. But I'll go for more pairs now and cut the lot size and see how that does.

I've been backtesting like mad!

Latest updates to both versions are in post 1.

 

  1. Matt's code for forcing ea's to wait until a trade shows up in the platform's history includes a maximum retry setting that defaults to 10. After that, it gives up and allows the ea to resume. I have cancelled the ability to resume, forcing TOB to start looking again. It will give an alert in case there is a problem and the ea needs restarting.
  2. I have added swap and commission into the trade-close calculation, to try to avoid those situations where the Sixths have moved, the trade is closing with only a pip or two profit yet the swap turns it into a tiny loser.

Neither of these are a huge issue, but better to have them working correctly than not - especially no 2 as decent lot sizes will generate a lot of negative swap.

Hi Doc,
Do you ever get the "Error 130 Invalid Stops"?
I get it no matter which broker I use and it means I can't test properly.
I'm using the latest version OOTB with ChaserL set to true.
