Yes, but it is a carry trade pair, so choppy is not that bad.
If you leverage it right and it stays around BE you can still make a nice profit on swaps.
The swap rates aren't what they used to be - I would be very careful relying on that. One bad day could knock out weeks of profit.

I know someone here who was, for the longest time, just playing small longs on audjpy, with a decent balance. Banking 4.5%, paid daily, beat the crap out of a savings account. Even underwater positions pay the swap. Positions so small stoplosses were unnecessary, but the interest kept pouring in. Not my style but, but not a bad way to go either IMO.

I followed the first 270 or so pages of this thread during the last week or so.
Your focus on location and finding your comfort level struck a cord with me.

While everyone is still trying to pick tops in the AUD across the board I guess it's still going to head higher too.

AUDJPY is a strong bet that the economic recovery will continue and risk will remain off.

In my opinion one of the better long term positions is long AUDNZD. Although it's popped recently any retest of the 1.30-1.31 area is a buy and hold.

Aussie economy will definitely outperform the Kiwi economy with 2 earth quakes and the crop issues they have now helping the NZD at all.

It's a +ve carry position that acts like a straddle given the AUD economy will provide better returns if this bull market continues and if it falls the Kiwi will take it on the chin first.

I like the FA, but if AU heads higher I expect a nice day or two of southbound action after we breach the current top to close out the weak longs.

Call me a skeptic.

thanky for your post. So I get the level and the market but what is the entry actually? I guess you will not suggest to enter just blindly.
Would you consider a re-tes with PA after break out perhaps?

A daily close below that 0.97 line would be the most obvious and safe signal.....

I personally like the idea of a break and retest as resistance, but maybe that might be a bit too conservative for a pair that is in a rage going down

This is a very valid way to trade it as well. It is even more conservative than the idea I stated earlier, and is quite often very effective. However, you must be patient, and wait for price to come back to you in order to get involved.

This is REALLY GOING TO HURT a lot of things. Funny really, I have been listening to people on Wall Street talk about how the consumer can handle higher gas prices if it is gradual. Of course, jobs would help me believe that....

Wonder who we are going to war with next?
