since everything played out and we got 135 pips from 3650, i post the charts which i sent malcolm yesterday.

just see it, the exact happening we had prior to trichet on february the first

easy money without rubbish, crap, non working tick-volume based vsa

lol yeah, and you have to put tg as your ib and they grab part of the commission. hell, i really hate their sales mission, absolutely! this is too much.

I'd like to add my thanks to Malcolm, HG, Dr. G, Intel and others. After reviewing this thread for the last few weeks, I started applying VSA to my live account, with limited success at first. However, with this recent move up in E/U I have made my largest gain to date, 13% on my account in a couple of days with minimal risk (around 1% risk to start off and then nearly none since stops were maintained at B/E-plus for almost the whole move). I partially-exited and reentered a few times during the move, all according to what I saw on the chart relative to VSA.

It is a fantastic feeling to watch a chart an "see" what the smart-money is doing or about to do, given probabilities. It is amazing what can be done with this crap, tick-volume based POS called VSA

Here's the latest. The platform is free (as we already knew). For the month of March you can get the indicators (singals) which includes the diamonds, as an add-on for 75.00. This 75.00 gets you one month of VSA club membership and some educational material.

Going forward there is a charge but I am not sure what that is as of yet. I can bet that it is more than 75.00 though.

EDIT: oh something new. VSA Volume it paints the volume bars bullish or bearish kind of like the volume thermometer.

actually, it's more like your run of the mill trend study overlaid on volume. Better Volume is way, well, better.

Okay, I am trying to get to a new page cause the doctors chart is soo big. lol

Gavin showed a losing trade today. Losses happen. They are the cost of doing business. However, I think that the trade actually showed poor stop placement. Intel, Malc and the Dr. would never place their stops where he did. As a matter of fact, Tom told Gavin not to place the stop there and instead place it above the high.

We spend a lot of time on precise entries but stop placement matters too. The market does not care about your acct size. Now that does not mean you should use a 15 point stop in the ES with a 5000 account. But using a .75 point stop simply because you don't have the money to use a 1.5 point stop is a losing prospect in the end.

A good thing to do is trade smaller time frames. Or better yet, wait until you have the money to trade properly.

i hate es, cant seem to get those right, on the odd occasion i do trade it i use 2 point stop, 3 at the most. i just dont like the way it moves, seems kinda jerky.

i am trading smaller timeframe at the moment though, 5min i quite like at the moment. lets me get early and fairly accurate entries so my stop in eu usually is 15-20 pips (since ill be taking the trade within 15 pips of a high/low/test/ns/nd if it goes a few pips past that the wrong way then trade was wrong so no point having a larger stop). i also find it easier to see what the volume is doing on 5min than anything higher, although 15 is ok sometimes i havent been using it much. plus i move my stop to BE very quickly (usually when im 6 pips in profit, perhaps i dont trust my own trades enough, malcolms always telling me my stops are too close just dont like being up 10 pips only to look at it 10 mins later about to hit my stop!).

only problem with 5min chart is having to look at it very often to get the entries as they happen, miss one by 10 mins and it may be too late to take the trade without stop being too big.

still have much to learn im sure i will be able to tweak these things if i can continue progress.

Gavin's trade was off a 30 minute cable chart. Ironically, he said that the trend had changed on lower time frames confirming his entry. Well, on those lower time frames he should have been able to find a market generated stop level.

Now if you disagree about the stop placement, the error on the trade was not re-entering on the Up Thrust. Gavin admits this and said he was preparing for the webinar and missed it.

So even if you are going to use money stops rather than stops based on market generated information, you don't want to compound the error by not being able or willing to get back in when the market tells you to.

Hey everyone, new guy here. What do you think of my first attempt to analyze a chart using VSA? I'm looking at the two rectangles I drew and observing that there was steady downward movement during times of relatively high volume. Was the smart money buying during these times?
