Margin Call - the movie

i believe this film premiered just the other day... part of the Berlin Film Festival.
learned about it in the local news.

I saw it here in Berlin Film Festival - but I was disappointed. It`s very lengthy, constant talk about risk on a board of governor level, good cast like Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, elderly Demi Moore etc.

Although it must be difficult to convey visually what the trading life in banks looks like, I was of course expecting something like " Wall Street " and huge trading rooms or pits shown - and how they react in the moment of a sell-off.

Nothing at all like that. In the end Lehman sells it`s toxic assets to unload risk and a melancholic Kevin Spacey buries his dog in the backyard.

And for the documentary/history geek there is nothing either in this film. No reference to central banks, the Fed etc.

So you will have to wait for my " cloak`n dagger " vampire movie, featuring the Rothchild family and the Bank of England in the 19th century.....

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it can't be worse than Wall Street 2. That movie was a disgrace.
