DislikedIt doesn't apply here if you start recovery at 2 open trades. The bug affects Beastie; looking at the code makes me think that it will not work properly here if users adopt a higher recovery threshold.
People should have Recovery kicking in at 2 open trades; this is how I trade TOB successfully on my live account and only an idiot argues with that. I might just cut the crap and enforce Recovery at 2 open trades, for the sake of my own sanity.
Disliked... but what about the ones that want to start recovery after one trade (22.214.171.124)
Do we get left out I'll take a look at it and see if I see anything.Ignored
DislikedThat is what Start_Recovery_at_trades = 2 means, for crying out loud.
That is: 2 trades are open, so the bot is in Recovery, OK. I though all the various user guides available made this clear.
The bot opens a trade.
The market moves against it.
The bot opens another trade.
We are in Recovery.
This is how the blasted thing has been working for the last umpteen weeks.
Without a hitch.
It just might not work if some idiot insists on using Start_Recovery_at_trades at anything other than 2.
I just recently set up a new demo which had a really great start
( ~15% in 48h)
I really love this EA and really appreciate your hard work steve!
Nice to have people like you arround contributing their stuff for free, so newbs like me can learn!
There is still one thing I'm missing though.
What do you think of implenting a dynamic lot sizing according to account balance?
So the EA would add up 0.01 lot per 200$ in the account balance (or what ever the user input would be)
Would be really interesting to see the results in...Ignored
DislikedEvening all :-)
Running TOB on 2 different demo's I noticed today they both opened duplicate trades on the GBPUSD + EURJPY (Latest code revisions).
I've captured a screen shot of the cable trades, anyone else been getting more duplicates ? It seemed to go away after the fix, then bingo.
I have just upgraded to the latest version from page 1 on my live account and I have also seen several instances of " duplicate " trades being placed
Not at the same time, but at almost the same levels and not waiting for the minimum pips from last entry buffer to be reached
See screenshot of EURJPY as example
2 trades placed at approx 2 hours apart at roughly same level
I have min pips from last entry set at 50
So second trade should not have opened as price has only moved approx 25 pips from first entry
This is not an...Ignored
Disliked416 pips this week on my live account, using the proven bot from the zip in post 1 - 1.75% of the balance at the start of the week.
DislikedExcellent steve! I'm running with that version live also since Jan 10th on Alpari UK and its working like a charm
My Dilemma (and my poor demo machines too) is deciding which new version to upgrade to, the stealth edition or the TOB with new mods as I've started calling it
Good times tho and I aint even started on your fib monster yet!Ignored
DislikedThe latest update is in post 1.
I have added ChaserL's code for dynamic BarCount calculation. to ChaserL. You can select your own count as before. You can also elect to use either Max's settings as most of us have been doing (UseMax) or experiment with ChaserL's (UseChaserL).
I have not updated the user guide yet. Coders, all the bar count stuff is now in its own function - int GetBarCount()
Anyone here getting crash-and-burn backtests, I just overcame one on an EU H1 chart going back over the previous year by enabling Atr hedging...Ignored
