This means you are trying to make the trade both the trade and its own Recovery trade at the same time. This is going to cause chaos.

You need an input of at least 2. This is one of the idiot checks I did not bother including because it never occurred to me that anyone might try to do this.

Yes, I got this on mine as well.

There is a fix in post 1 that seems to be working well.

For those of you who have already modified the code to suit yourselves:

 

  1. to to void StartCT() and delete [code]static int D1Bars;[/code]
  2. go to the general declarations section underneath all the externs and add [code]int D1Bars;[/code]
  3. then go to int init() and add [code]D1Bars = 0;[/code] then recompile

I know the Sixths indicator calculations are being profitable. But as you know they are based on a BarCount calculation which is not very scientific or optimized daily per pair or symbol.

In my opinion, i have been wrong before but the following to me would be a much better calculation which would be self optimizing on a daily basis.

TopLine = Daily R3 Level.
TopGoldLine = Daily R2 Level.
TopGreenLine = Daily R1 Level.
WhiteLine = Daily Pivot Level.
BottomLine = Daily S3 Level.
BottomGoldLine = Daily S2 Level.
BottomGreenLine = Daily S1 Level.

Anyway, i know you have enough todo so I will shut up for now and maybe do some of my own testing around this.

The code for this already exists in ftlr. Give me the values of your Rx and Sx levels and I will code an experimental version, or add this as an option to Beastie.

This is what i came up with for a different EA. But there could be a problem with the Sunday candle etc.....

double YesterdayClose = iClose(symbol,1440,1);
double Pivot = ((YesterdayHigh + YesterdayLow + YesterdayClose)/3);
double R1 = (2*Pivot)-YesterdayLow;
double S1 = (2*Pivot)-YesterdayHigh;
double R2 = Pivot+(R1-S1);
double S2 = Pivot-(R1-S1);
double R3 = (YesterdayHigh + (2*(Pivot-YesterdayLow)));
double S3 = (YesterdayLow - (2*(YesterdayHigh-Pivot)));

I started to code this then realised I didn't have to. All people need to do is set BarCount to 24 to get the same thing.

I am pretty sure the levels are different but i will come back once i have done some testing.

Hi Scoobs. If, optimally, you wanted to define a "day", what times would those be? e.g. start time in GMT or London local and close time? Perhaps one could start 8AM tokyo to 5pm NY as a "day" and ignore even the remaining few hours?

It should be possible to figure it out based on 1H and be independent on where your criminal has decided to zero their bars.

Now that I think about it, if we do the above, is there any real difference between this "Beastie" strategy and FLTR strategy?

They seem exactly the same, other than FLTR sells from T1 to High (of previous day), and Scoobs-lil-Beastie sells from R1 to Pivot.

Steve,Scoobs, what do you think? Is there any other substantial difference?

Maybe they should be combined into one strategy with an "outside trade" (FLTR) and "inside trade" (beastie)?

If you want to be scientifically correct then a forex day begins with Asia open and ends with USA close. But this would probably be a nightmare to code as brokers have different bar open and close times depending on where in the world they are located.

But dont forget that forex is a 24/5 market so i dont think you need to worry about it.
