I had that problem also on my FTLR-live-penny account yesterday and part of today. Called Alpari (the br0ker) and they said they had a problem. It was solved this day and they called me back to let me know. Working fine since then.

Thanks julesvH. I have now done that. 15 Min time frame do not seem to be a problem as of now. 30 min i have to see.

I'm running TOB live and am having a couple of conundrums. Looking for any help. I am using OOTB settings.

1. Most of my trades seem to close early. Does this seem normal? For instance, TOB took a sell trade for eurghp at 0.84553. A day later, and after a fair amount of DD recovered it closed at 0.84583, a gain of .0003. Does that seem normal?

I'm trading .05 lots and have trade gains like $2.42, $0.20, $1.60. The risk/reward ratio seems way out of my favor.

2. Global Variables. According to the pdf manual, it looks like the global variables should automatically be present when I hit F3. However, I have to enter each one. Is this normal?

3. In the manual, there is an input: DoNotOverLoad5DigitCriminals=true. This input is missing in what I believe is the most recent version. Maybe the user guide is mixing TH and TOB and I just haven't sorted it out.

You do not understand and so cannot trade TOB.

TOB does not use globals. You do not understand and so cannot trade TOB.

Sorry about that. The input is left over from mptm, is irrelevant to TOB and so I removed it. As I have closed the thread and there will be no further development for the time being, I forgot to update the user guide.

This last does nothing to ameliorate your cluelessness. You must not trade TOB live until you understand how it works. Gaining this knowledge is up to you; everything you need is published here at FF.

I have read from the forum that AEB AND LEB is making pips. So i had tried LEB and it made me USD2xxx.xx only in one day trading on demo account. I have found that LEB keep on buying EU while EU is on the uptrend but not otherwise.

There are few versions of LEB and don't remember which version is the latest. The question i would ask which version is the latest and steve, could you post the latest experimental beast again. Thanks for your great work on ff.

Another Experimental Beast (AEB) ea I think was last posted in post 198 of the sixths trading thread about 17Nov2010.
Latest Experimental Beast (LEB) ea starts around post 348 on 10Dec2010.
Goes up till it is posted at post 428 on 14Dec2010.
Not too much to read through.

As an idea,
If you add a line starting with // at the front of any ea you download, stating where & when you got it from, it is easier to keep track of them.
I add in the filename which I alter to include the post ## & date.
Then the folder holding them is an index of sorts of the thread attachments.

Thanks for the advice. Will do as per advice from now on.

I had re-download them again and do some backtest and now i know which version is working well based on my backtest.

AEB is Another Experimental Beast and LEB is Latest Experimental Beast.

Both versions were doing well as reported by forum members but still have some minor bug here and there.

There are two bots available:
The Old Beast is the one we have on our live accounts - those of us who have been with this process for a while (ignore references to DoNotOverload5DigitCriminals in the user guide; this has been removed).
The Beast is the latest version with the 'virtual' pending trades, Normal, Aggressive and gspe trading styles. This is not quite ready for live accounts yet.

Re references to AEB and LEB here, I am not entirely sure where the confusion arises or why people are attempting to use these. The 'E' in AEB and LEB stands for 'Experimental'. Like most experiments, they were abandoned. One will have survived and morphed, possibly, into The Old Beast.

Clearly, several contributors here cannot even be bothered to read post 1 of The Beast's thread. If these people would care to do so then they will learn which ea the rest of us are trading on our live accounts.

Or they can ignore this post and continue to struggle to find a bot that actually works. It is up to them.

As a general rule, it helps to read the op's first post in a thread with a moderate degree of care; much useful information is often contained within.

As an equally general rule, anybody stupid enough to ignore the op's first post in a thread can expect to be thoroughly baffled and bewildered, and deserve to be so. They will also end up broke. Idiots do not survive Forex.

Although "fearlessly" does not herein apply, I offer a premise and a conclusion.

The CT Beastie is working marvelously now. I am pleased and could scarcely ask for an improvement. The robot is consistent and incredibly profitable. I love watching it work its magic. All traders can rejoice in its present configuration, including the marvelously ingenious recovery feature, which can be used by all, irrespective of where they live.

(Premises):

Whereas the ADR hedge will reach break-even more quickly, and is simpler than the recovery feature, and

Whereas the draw-down will universally remain less for a shorter period of time, for those who can use a hedge, and

Whereas the de-activated ADR hedge already embedded in Beastie works beautifully to reach break-even expeditiously, and

Whereas one forever-unnamed Beastie fan of significant renown and experience actually prefers it to the recovery feature,

(Conclusion)

A return of the automated hedge option has merit, even for those of us who lack coding talent.

Hehe. Fighting my way through this little lot,

 

  1. You want hedging re-introduced as a user option?
  2. You have re-activated the commented out hedging code successfully?

If 2) is correct, can you do me a favour please, and post a copy of your start() function so I can see where you have added the hedged basket closure code; this will save me working it out for myself.

Mr. Hopwood, I think the Scoobs Margin Check

  1. if (UseScoobsMarginCheck && !RecoveryInProgress)

must be expressed as


if (UseScoobsMarginCheck && OpenTrades == 0)

because if there are one open trade and in drawndown, it will be dificult to be rescued if we don't permit opening new positions.
